Best Buy Ocarina of Time Midnight Launch: Zelda Switch 2 Stock

Best Buy has announced late-night openings for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on Nintendo Switch 2, with a chance to buy the Zelda 40th Anniversary console and matching Pro Controller in person. The October 8 announcement covers nearly all US stores, but participation and hours must be checked for your location.

What time does the launch event start?

The event begins at midnight Eastern on Thursday, November 5, 2026. In the other time zones below, that falls on Wednesday evening:

Use the participating-store finder to select your state and location, then confirm the event hours with that store before setting out.

Will the Zelda Switch 2 be available without a preorder?

Best Buy says stores will have limited quantities of these products available to buy at the event:

• The Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Nintendo Switch 2 console.
• The matching Switch 2 Pro Controller.
• Copies of Ocarina of Time for Nintendo Switch 2.

There is no published per-store allocation. Arriving for the event does not guarantee a console or controller, and reserving the game does not reserve either accessory or hardware.

The anniversary hardware launches on October 29, a week before the game. November 5 is an additional in-store buying opportunity tied to the Ocarina of Time launch, rather than the console’s release date. The console does not include Ocarina of Time.

How do you collect an existing preorder?

If your game order already uses store pickup, check that the selected store is participating. To change a delivery order, sign in to My Best Buy and open your purchase history to modify the pickup option. Confirm the change on your order before travelling.
