Step-by-step solution

Spinning Gears uses Recall twice: first to return an orb, then to turn a large gear into a lift.

1. First Gear and Gate

Wait for the orb. Approach the first large gear and let an orb drop onto it.

Reverse the first gear. Use Recall on the gear. Its reversed motion carries the orb into the vessel, opening the gate below.

2. Secret Room and Chest

Turn the second-room knob. Use Ultrahand to rotate it counterclockwise several times, spinning the large gear on the left.

Recall the gear. Reverse the motion you just recorded, then quickly step into one of the gear’s slots.

Ride down to the secret room. Stay in the slot until it carries you below the floor. Open the chest for a Zonaite Longsword.

Return with Ascend. Use Ascend on the ceiling to reach the second room again.

3. Ride to the Altar

Set the upward route. Turn the knob clockwise several times, then use Recall on the large gear to reverse that movement.

Ride to the altar platform. Step into a slot and let the gear carry you upward. Get off at the top.

4. Altar
