TotK Lurelin Village Restoration: Logs, Repairs & Rewards
Rebuild Lurelin Village in Tears of the Kingdom: defeat the pirates, deliver logs and rice, repair every building, and unlock free services and follow-up quests.
What is the order for restoring Lurelin Village?
In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, rebuilding Lurelin Village spans two consecutive side adventures: Ruffian-Infested Village, followed by Lurelin Village Restoration Project. Clear the occupying monsters first, then deliver supplies and help Bolson repair the buildings.
| Stage | What to do | Completion cue |
|---|---|---|
| Liberate the village | Speak to Rozel, then clear the village, pirate ship and well | The Monster Forces bar empties and the villagers return |
| Gather supplies | Give Bolson 15 non-palm logs and 20 Hylian Rice | Building repairs become available |
| Repair the village | Fix the inn, restaurant, Lucky Treasure Shop, chief’s house and Armes’s house | All five repairs are finished and the celebration takes place |
| Follow-up activities | Help the merchant, Ralera and the resort project as desired | Shopping, fabric and the Water Rally become available |
Bring a tree-cutting weapon, arrows and food for the fight. Keep any Hylian Rice you already have. Leave the village’s palm trees standing until you need them for the replacement pillars.
How do you reach Lurelin Village and find Rozel?
Lurelin Village lies on Hyrule’s southeastern coast. For a ground route, follow the road east from Lakeside Stable. If you have activated Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower, you can also start there and head southeast toward the coast.
At the northwestern approach above the village, speak to Rozel and Bolson, who are sheltering outside the occupied settlement. Rozel explains the situation. Activate nearby Sifumim Shrine as a convenient return point before heading downhill.
You do not need to visit Lookout Landing for Village Attacked by Pirates first. That side quest concerns checking on the villagers and reporting back; it is separate from defeating the occupying force.
How do you finish Ruffian-Infested Village?
The Monster Forces bar tracks the remaining enemies in this encounter. Defeating the largest enemy aboard the ship is not enough. Work through the houses and shoreline, then the pirate ship, then the well to keep track of what you have searched.
- On land: Clear enemies around the houses, beach and dock approach. If surrounded, retreat into open space instead of fighting in a narrow gap between buildings.
- On the pirate ship: Clear the deck and look up for enemies on elevated parts of the ship. Use your bow on distant targets before dealing with close attackers.
- Inside the village well: Climb down and check for the hidden Bokoblin. This is an easy enemy to miss when the settlement looks empty but the health bar has a little left.
After every enemy is defeated, a scene brings the villagers back. Speak to Bolson on the beach to begin Lurelin Village Restoration Project. Simply reporting the villagers’ safety at Lookout Landing does not remove the monsters.
Where do you get 15 logs and 20 Hylian Rice?
| Material | Amount | Where to get it | How to deliver it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Non-palm logs | 15 | Ordinary trees on the hill above the village entrance | Carry whole logs to Bolson; batches are accepted |
| Hylian Rice | 20 | Cut nearby grass or buy it in Hateno Village | Have the full amount in your inventory and speak to Bolson |
Bolson needs whole trunks left on the ground after felling trees. Do not chop them again into Wood bundles. Palm-tree logs are also rejected during this stage; save those for the building pillars.
- Cut ordinary trees on the hill above the entrance and leave their trunks intact.
- Use Ultrahand to attach a manageable group, then carry it down toward Bolson on the beach. Reduce the batch size if it keeps catching on obstacles, or build a cart to transport it.
- Set the logs near him and speak to him to hand them over. Delivered logs are counted toward the total, so you do not need all 15 at once. If some are not counted, detach them, move them closer and try again.
- Collect all 20 Hylian Rice before handing it over. Grass drops are not guaranteed; buying the remainder can save time.
Finish delivering a batch before fast traveling away so you do not have to search for loose logs on your return. Once the initial supplies are delivered, Bolson rebuilds the foundations and you can start using palm logs.
How do you repair each of the five buildings?
You can choose the repair order. Select a building with Bolson before working on it, then return to choose another once it is finished. The inn needs debris removed; the other four buildings need straight palm logs as replacement pillars.
Inn: remove debris from the water
The inn resembles a stranded ship and is flooded. Its existing central pillar is intact, so do not replace it or damage the remaining frame.
Climb onto the edge or stand on a floating board. Use Ultrahand to lift floating boards and submerged debris out of the building. Move closer to anything beyond your reach, or attach a log to a submerged piece and lift the assembly. Sweep the bottom again after clearing the surface. Once everything is removed, Bolson finishes the repair and you receive five Voltfruit.
Azure Bay restaurant: align the roof and floor holes
Move obstructing crates out of the building, then cut down a straight palm tree. Rotate its log upright with Ultrahand. From an elevated position, lower it through the roof hole until its bottom also enters the floor hole.
Stand on the frame, a crate or nearby high ground for a better angle. A log leaning against the roof does not count: check that a crate or the edge of the floor is not blocking its lower end. You receive a meal for the repair, and the restaurant reopens.
Lucky Treasure Shop: aim for the upstairs pot
This building also needs a palm log, but the lower end belongs in the pot on the upper floor, not all the way down at ground level. Bring the log beside the building, then climb the frame or use Ascend to reach a higher working position.
Rotate it upright, pass it through the roof opening and lower it into the pot. If it catches on the rim, try a straighter trunk and check the alignment from the side. The reward is five Bomb Flowers, and the shop reopens.
Chief’s house: repair the detached hut
Rozel’s main home survived. The damaged structure is the detached hut beside it, where Bolson is staying. Move the crate blocking the roof opening, then lower a straight palm log from above through both the roof and floor holes. You receive three Armored Porgy.
Armes’s house: find an angle that shows both holes
Fit another straight palm log through the roof and floor. Nearby terrain, trees and the camera angle can make this awkward. Bring the log beside the house, then work from the slope behind it or another elevated position. Watch the lower end as well as the roof: it must enter the floor socket. The reward is a Purple Rupee, worth 50 rupees.
After all five repairs, the village holds a celebration and Lurelin Village Restoration Project is complete. Individual businesses can reopen earlier, but finish the entire project to receive the full set of free services.
What rewards and free services does restoration unlock?
Beyond the individual repair gifts listed above, Lurelin becomes a useful place to revisit for supplies. After the celebration, these benefits are available:
| Place | Benefit after restoration | Remaining condition |
|---|---|---|
| Inn | Free regular beds | A salt spa treatment still requires five Rock Salt |
| Restaurant | Free meals | You cannot collect meals continuously; return another day once service ends |
| Lucky Treasure Shop | Free treasure games | Waiting and prize availability still apply; Roasted Porgy can earn extra chances, but cannot replace missing prizes |
| Armes’s house | Fish and supplies offered outside the house are yours to take | Do not treat them as an instantly replenishing source of income |
| Garini’s shop | Free goods once his business is restored | Bring the merchant back, then finish A Way to Trade, Washed Away |
Ask Cloyne about Roasted Porgy if you want another chance at the treasure game. The restaurant, merchant and treasure shop have their own availability conditions. Follow their dialogue when they ask you to return later; free does not mean unlimited items on demand.
How do the related side quests fit into restoration?
These are side quests, and completing every one is not required to finish the restoration adventure. Attend the celebration first, then pursue the rewards you want.
Village Attacked by Pirates: check on the villagers and report back
Speak to Garini and Mubs at Lookout Landing about the attack, visit Rozel at Lurelin to check on the villagers, then return to report what you learned. There is a report for finding them safe even while the pirates still occupy the village.
If you have rebuilt Lurelin but cannot find its merchant, return to Lookout Landing and tell them the village has recovered so Garini can go home. This leads into his boat quest, but taking this reporting quest first is not required to start restoration.
A Way to Trade, Washed Away: restore Garini’s business
Once Garini returns, ask about his missing boat. Search Tenoko Island for a usable boat, then find a way to sail it back to him in the village. Completing the quest awards a Star Fragment and restores the merchant as another source of free supplies. If Garini is missing, check the reporting dialogue at Lookout Landing first.
Rattled Ralera: cook curry, cool her down and earn fabric
Visit Ralera after rebuilding the village. Cook the Seafood Curry she requests by combining Hylian Rice, Goron Spice, and either Mighty Porgy or Armored Porgy in a cooking pot, then give it to her. Use the requested porgy rather than substituting an arbitrary fish.
Next, she complains about the heat. Place a Fan in front of her, aim the airflow at her and activate it. You receive Lurelin Village Fabric, which can be taken to Hateno Village’s dye shop to change your paraglider design.
Lurelin Resort Project: open the Water Rally separately
After restoration, speak to Rozel and Bolson about developing the village. They want racers from near Tarrey Town to visit. This is a separate activity unlock, not an additional house repair.
- Visit Tali, Shabonne and Fernison at the construction site near Tarrey Town. If the race preparations are unfinished, complete Master the Vehicle Prototype first to make the course available.
- Discuss inviting them to Lurelin, then speak to Fernison to challenge Tali’s record: touch every light and return to the start in under two minutes. Keep hold of the steering stick and stay on the course. Reaching the last light alone does not finish the race.
- After breaking the record, speak to them about the invitation again. Return to Rozel and Bolson in Lurelin to report back and open the Lurelin Water Rally.
What should you check if you get stuck?
| Problem | What to check |
|---|---|
| A little Monster Forces health remains | Search the well for a Bokoblin, then elevated ship positions and the shore |
| Bolson rejects your wood | The initial delivery needs whole non-palm logs, not Wood bundles or palm logs; move them close and speak to him |
| You lose track of your delivered logs | Ask Bolson how many remain; accepted logs accumulate toward the total of 15 |
| You have rice but cannot hand it over | Have all 20 Hylian Rice in your inventory; cooked dishes cannot replace the ingredient |
| The inn repair never finishes | Check underwater and move debris outside the structure, not just to its other side |
| A placed pillar does not trigger completion | Select that building first; check the floor socket or upstairs pot, clear obstacles and try a straight trunk |
| A rebuilt shop still charges | Finish all five repairs and the celebration; salt spa materials remain a separate requirement |
| Garini or the free shop is missing | Report back at Lookout Landing, then complete his boat quest in Lurelin |
| The racers refuse to visit | Finish race preparations, beat the two-minute record, speak to them again and report back in Lurelin |
Use the side quest checklist to find other local errands, or the side adventure list to track the two restoration adventures alongside the game’s longer quest chains.
