Ocarina of Time Remake Release Date, Price and Pre-Order Details

Nintendo first showed the remake with a short teaser on June 9, 2026, and only promised “2026”. The full reveal came in the Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct on September 8, 2026, which set the date, opened pre-orders and introduced a themed Switch 2. Everything below comes from Nintendo’s own pages and eShop listings, checked on September 28, 2026, unless a line says otherwise.

When is the Ocarina of Time remake release date?

Thursday, November 5, 2026, on Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo’s Japanese, Taiwanese and Southeast Asian news posts all give the same day, and there is no staggered regional launch. Nintendo describes the game as a full remake of the 1998 Nintendo 64 original with new visuals and easier handling, not a port or an emulated release.

How much does the Ocarina of Time remake cost?

Nintendo prices the download and the physical copy separately, and the boxed version costs more in every region that has published both. The table lists Nintendo’s own figures first. Where only retailers or press have a price, the row says so.

What editions and pre-order bonuses are there?

Nintendo has announced one standard edition in two formats: download and boxed. There is no collector’s or deluxe edition. Pre-order bonuses depend on the store:

• US physical copies: the first print run has a textured foil cover while supplies last.
• Nintendo Store Japan, boxed version: five A5 art cards, a paper stand and an original sticker sheet, in limited quantities.
• Nintendo Store Japan, download version: smartphone and PC wallpapers, available until November 23, 2026.
• Other regions: individual retailers run their own offers, such as slipcovers or sleeves. Nintendo has not announced a worldwide bonus.

The download is about 27 GB, supports one player, and plays in TV, tabletop and handheld modes. It includes Traditional and Simplified Chinese among 13 languages.

Is there a Switch 2 bundle with Ocarina of Time?

No bundle includes the game. On October 29, one week before launch, Nintendo releases Zelda 40th Anniversary hardware, but the US store page for the console says plainly that the game is not included.

The console has a Triforce design on the dock and green and gold Joy-Con 2 controllers. Nintendo notes that pixel images of Link and Zelda are hidden in the design.

What else was announced alongside the remake?

• Zelda Notes support. The Nintendo Switch App service adds four features for this game: a log that replays what you did each day, photo-based quests that ask you to find a place in the game, free ocarina playing on your phone, and a quiz with more than 2,000 questions. • Two amiibo. Young Link and Young Zelda unlock special in-game masks in a retro graphical style. Both release in 2027.
• Ocarina accessories. HORI sells an “Electric Ocarina of Time” for $49.99 (7,980 yen) on November 5. Nintendo will also sell a playable ocarina through its own store, but has not given a price or date.
• Nintendo Music. The remake’s “Title Theme” is available now to Nintendo Switch Online members.

What has not been announced yet?

These are open questions as of September 28, 2026. We will not guess at them:

• Whether Master Quest, the Boss Challenge mode or other 3DS extras return
• Frame rate and resolution targets
• The voice cast
• A version for the original Switch, or any upgrade path from the Nintendo Switch Online N64 release
• The price and date of Nintendo’s own playable ocarina

What rumors are going around?

• A Majora’s Mask remake. In July 2026 several outlets noticed that a Japanese voice actor’s IMDb page listed a “Majora’s Mask HD” project. IMDb is user-edited, and Nintendo has said nothing about it.
• The earlier “late 2026” leak. Before the June teaser, a well-known industry leaker said the remake was aimed at the 2026 holidays. The official November 5 date has now replaced that rumor.
