TotK amiibo Rewards: Every Fabric, Armor Drop and Epona
What every amiibo gives in Tears of the Kingdom: the exclusive paraglider fabric, hero armor and legacy weapons, Epona, the once-a-day limit and how drops work.
amiibo in Tears of the Kingdom work like a daily lucky dip: tap a figure, and a pile of materials and a treasure chest appear in front of Link. Zelda-series figures can put something rarer in that chest: a paraglider fabric that only amiibo give, a piece of hero armor, or a weapon from an older game. This page lists what each figure can give and how the drops work. For the Breath of the Wild version see BotW amiibo rewards.
How do you turn on amiibo in Tears of the Kingdom?
- Switch it on in Options. Open the menu, go to Options and change the amiibo setting from “amiibo disabled” to “amiibo enabled”. The game then reminds you that “An amiibo can be used only once a day.”
- Clear the first shrine. amiibo only works once you reach a certain point in the game: clearing Ukouh Shrine, the first shrine on the Great Sky Island, adds it to your abilities.
- Pick amiibo on the ability wheel. Hold L and choose amiibo. A circle appears on the ground where the drop will land.
- Touch the figure to the NFC touchpoint: the right stick of the right Joy-Con, or the NFC mark on a Pro Controller.
How many times a day can you scan an amiibo?
Once per figure per day. Tap the same figure again and the game says “This amiibo can’t be used again today.”; a different figure can still be used. The limit is per figure, so owning several figures means several scans a day.
On Nintendo Switch 2, the Zelda Notes app can also scan amiibo for you, with its own daily rule. See the Zelda Notes guide.
What drops when you scan an amiibo?
Every scan drops a handful of materials, sometimes a few extra items, and one treasure chest. Which materials depends on the figure: fish from the Mipha amiibo, ore and gems from Daruk, mushrooms from TotK Link, and so on. Non-Zelda amiibo work too, but they only give random everyday materials.
The chest is where the good items are. Most of the time it holds an ordinary weapon or shield, such as a Knight’s Broadsword. Sometimes it holds the figure’s rare reward instead.
Reportedly the rare reward comes up about one time in five, and a figure that has given the ordinary chest four times in a row is guaranteed the rare one on its fifth scan. A fabric is said to leave the pool once you have it, so later rare rolls go to that figure’s other items.

Which amiibo rewards are actually exclusive?
Only the paraglider fabrics, and Epona as a horse. Every piece of hero armor, the Fierce Deity set and the legacy weapons can also be found in chests around Hyrule, mostly in caves and the Depths. See hero sets and the Fierce Deity set for where.
If you lose an amiibo armor piece, the Bargainer Statues in the Depths sell back amiibo armor you have already had, at 400 Poes a piece. The statue at Lookout Landing is the exception.
How do you use an amiibo fabric?
Take it to Sayge at the Kochi Dye Shop in Hateno Village. Reworking the paraglider costs 20 rupees, and once a fabric is handed over you can switch to it again at any time.
How do you get Epona from an amiibo?
Scan Link (Super Smash Bros.) or Link (Twilight Princess). The first time either figure is scanned on your save, Epona appears instead of the usual drop. Do it on the ground where horses can appear, not on a sky island or in the Depths. She arrives as a wild horse, so ride her to a stable and register her to keep her. After that first scan these figures give their normal drops. More on her stats in horses.
What does the Wolf Link amiibo do in Tears of the Kingdom?
Wolf Link does not appear as a companion as he did in Breath of the Wild. Scanning the figure drops a pile of meat, raw and cooked. Its chest is said to hold the Mirror of Twilight Fabric, the same one the two Twilight Link figures give.
