TotK Wizzrobes: All Six Types, HP, Weaknesses and Locations
Every Wizzrobe in Tears of the Kingdom, Fire to Thunder: HP, the element that kills each one in a single hit, why they drop nothing, and a map of all 72 spawns.
The game calls Wizzrobes “spell-casting monsters” that “can be found all over Hyrule”. They float in the air, throw elemental magic, call up elemental monsters and change the weather around them. This page lists all six with their HP from the game’s parameter files, explains which element finishes each one in a single hit, and maps all 72 spawn points. For the other monster families see the enemy overview; the Wizzrobes of the earlier game are on the Breath of the Wild Wizzrobe page.
Which Wizzrobes are in Tears of the Kingdom?
| Wizzrobe | HP | Magic | Weather it causes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fire Wizzrobe | 150 | Fireballs, flaming monsters | Severe heat |
| Ice Wizzrobe | 150 | Freezing blasts of air, frozen monsters | Blizzard |
| Electric Wizzrobe | 150 | Balls of electricity, electrified monsters | Thunderstorm |
| Meteo Wizzrobe | 300 | Several fireballs at once | Severe heat |
| Blizzrobe | 300 | Freezing air from its staff | Blizzard |
| Thunder Wizzrobe | 300 | Several balls of electricity at once | Thunderstorm |
The HP is from the game’s parameter files; the magic and weather are from each one’s Hyrule Compendium entry. The three stronger kinds have twice the HP. The game says the Meteo Wizzrobe is “more resilient” than the Fire Wizzrobe and that the Blizzrobe and Thunder Wizzrobe are “more dangerous” than their weaker kinds.
What does a Meteo Wizzrobe look like?
All Wizzrobes wear a long robe with a pointed hood and glowing eyes, and the robe’s colors tell the element: red and yellow for fire, blue and white for ice, white and yellow for electricity.
What does a Blizzrobe look like?
What does an Electric Wizzrobe look like?
What are Wizzrobes weak to?
| Wizzrobe | Catching fire | Freezing | Shock | Head |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fire, Meteo | No effect | 9,999 | 20 | Double damage |
| Ice, Blizzrobe | 9,999 | No effect | 20 | Double damage |
| Electric, Thunder | 10, then 5 per tick | 10 | No effect | Double damage |
These numbers are from each Wizzrobe’s damage file. With 150 or 300 HP, a 9,999 hit is a sure kill:
- Fire and Meteo Wizzrobes: freeze them. An arrow fused with an Ice Fruit is enough.
- Ice Wizzrobes and Blizzrobes: set them alight with an arrow fused with a Fire Fruit.
- Electric and Thunder Wizzrobes: no element kills them at once, and shock does nothing. Fire and ice still chip away a little, but arrows to the head and melee hits do the real work.
The damage files also give the fire and ice kinds 999,999 damage from a lightning strike, while the electric kinds take none.
How do you beat a Wizzrobe?
- Shoot first. Wizzrobes float well above the ground, so a bow is the main tool. Aim for the head: every Wizzrobe’s damage file gives it a head hitbox with double damage.
- Use the opposite element. See the table above: one ice arrow for a fire Wizzrobe, one fire arrow for an ice Wizzrobe.
- Watch where it reappears. After taking a hit, a Wizzrobe often vanishes and comes back somewhere nearby. Keep the camera moving and fire again as soon as it shows up.
- Deal with the summons. A Wizzrobe calls up monsters of its own element, in the game’s words “flaming”, “frozen” or monsters “surging with electricity”. Clear them quickly so they cannot crowd you while you aim.
- Get out of the weather, or end it. Heat from a fire Wizzrobe and blizzards from an ice one keep hurting you without the right gear or food. Electric Wizzrobes bring thunderstorms, so take off metal gear. The game says the weather goes back to normal once the Wizzrobe is beaten.
What do Wizzrobes drop?
Nothing. None of the six Wizzrobes has a drop table in the game data, so they give no materials. The reason to fight one is to clear the way and stop the weather it caused. Unlike Breath of the Wild, this game has no Fire, Ice or Lightning Rods to pick up.
Where do Wizzrobes spawn?
| Wizzrobe | Surface | Sky | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fire Wizzrobe | 17 | — | 17 |
| Ice Wizzrobe | 8 | — | 8 |
| Electric Wizzrobe | 19 | — | 19 |
| Meteo Wizzrobe | 8 | — | 8 |
| Blizzrobe | 7 | — | 7 |
| Thunder Wizzrobe | 12 | 1 | 13 |
| Total | 71 | 1 | 72 |
These are the game’s placement data; none is placed in caves, Hyrule Castle or the Depths. Each kind keeps to suitable land:
- Fire Wizzrobes cluster in Eldin, with 8 of 17. Meteo Wizzrobes are in Gerudo (4), Akkala (2) and Tabantha (2).
- Ice Wizzrobes are in the cold north: 5 in Hebra and 2 in Tabantha. Six of the seven Blizzrobes are in Gerudo.
- Electric Wizzrobes spread widest, from Hyrule Field and Lanayru (5 each) to Tabantha and Great Hyrule Forest. Thunder Wizzrobes favor Hyrule Field (5) and Necluda (4), and one floats over the Thunderhead Isles in the sky.
