Ocarina of Time Spirit Temple Walkthrough: Both Eras, Mirror Shield, Twinrova

What do you need for the Spirit Temple?

How do you clear the child half of the Spirit Temple?

1. Talk to Nabooru. As a child, speak to the Gerudo by the crawl hole left of the stairs, say you are up to nothing, agree to fetch the Silver Gauntlets and crawl in. Fire burns the Deku Shield, so equip the Hylian Shield.
2. Clear the first corridor. Kill the Keese and Fire Keese, pass the blade trap and bomb the Armos (or stun and slash it). Take the left door.
3. Lower the bridge with the Boomerang. Beat the Stalfos and Green Bubble, then curve the Boomerang around the raised bridge into the switch (or shoot a seed through the grating). The far chest holds a Deku Shield.
4. Burn the Anubis. It mirrors you; only fire hurts it. Stand opposite the door so it floats there, then hit the crystal switch to light the fire, or cast Din’s Fire.
5. Collect five Silver Rupees. Kill the Wallmaster and Keese and gather the rupees (one is behind a torch). Cross the bridge, turn and Boomerang Gold Skulltula #95 off the fence.
6. Light two torches for Small Key 1. Light a Deku Stick at the burning torch and ignite the two unlit ones.
7. Open the crawl-hole door. In the first corridor, crawl through the other hole and use Small Key 1.
8. Climb for Gold Skulltula #96. Kill the wall’s Skulltulas, climb, turn and Boomerang #96.
9. Blast the sunlit boulder. Kill two Lizalfos; the crystal switch drops two chests, one with Bombchus. Bombchu the boulder leaking sunlight so light hits the sun switch.
10. Drop the Armos statue and grab the Map. In the Colossus room, push the Armos statue off the ledge onto the switch. Carry a lit Deku Stick (or Din’s Fire) to the two floor torches for the Dungeon Map.
11. Clear the sun-block room for Small Key 2. Bomb the three Beamos, collect five Silver Rupees to light one torch, then light the rest.
12. Push the sun block into the light. Move the grey blocks and push the sun-faced block into the sunbeam.
13. Take Gold Skulltula #97. Halfway up the stairs, turn: #97 is above the door. Use Small Key 2 at the top.
14. Beat the first Iron Knuckle. Wake it with a Slingshot or Boomerang, bait a swing, jump clear and strike, especially when its axe sticks in the floor. Axe hits on pillars or the throne drop hearts; it speeds up once its armor falls.
15. Claim the Silver Gauntlets. On the statue’s right hand behind the throne, Kaepora Gaebora appears a last time, the chest gives the Silver Gauntlets and Koume and Kotake abduct Nabooru. Play the Prelude of Light, draw the Master Sword and return as an adult.

How do you get the Mirror Shield as adult Link?

1. Push the silver block. Atop the entrance stairs, turn right and push the silver block into the gap. Bomb the Beamos and Longshot the ceiling crystal switch.
2. Get the Compass. Left door: kill the Wolfos, play Zelda’s Lullaby on the Triforce symbol and Longshot to the chest.
3. Work the rolling boulder room. Right door: collect five Silver Rupees (one mid-air, the rest in alcoves). The Song of Time at the Time Block reveals Gold Skulltula #98; play it again to reach the last rupee.
4. Get Small Key 3. Kill the Like Like that drops in next door and open the chest. The key opens a door in the blade-trap room.
5. Handle the mirror room. Shield against flying pots, kill another Like Like and climb the brick wall. Lens the invisible Floormaster; kill it and its three small hands.
6. Turn the mirror statue. Light the sun switches in order: a recovery-heart chest, a freezing trap chest, then the door. Skip the fourth (Wallmaster).
7. Take Small Key 4 from the statue’s hands. In the Colossus room, ignore the Armos and Hover Boot onto the hand with the Triforce symbol. Zelda’s Lullaby drops a chest into the other hand; Longshot to it.
8. Use the scarecrow for Gold Skulltula #99. Longshot to the ledge torch, play the Scarecrow’s Song and Longshot to Pierre by the far wall: #99 (and a flying pot).
9. Open the shortcut. Longshot the ceiling target above the Armos, climb, Longshot to the corner chest and hammer the rusted switch. In the opened lower-floor door, push both blocks down and hammer the second switch for an elevator to the first room.
10. Clear the Anubis room. Use Small Key 4 atop the stairs, bomb the Beamos and break the pot for bombs. Next door, bomb the Beamos and burn the Anubis with Din’s Fire or Fire Arrows, or step on the switch to light a fire and lure them in; the Song of Time where Navi turns green adds a block for the last lure.
11. Get past the Armos switch. By the south door (not the sun-switch one), wake the far-right Armos with an arrow and slip through while it sits on the switch. Ice Arrows or the Longshot freeze it there.
12. Beat the second Iron Knuckle and open the big chest. The stairway hides two invisible recovery-heart chests. Beyond the Iron Knuckle’s throne, on the statue’s left hand, is the Mirror Shield.

Where is the Boss Key and how do you reach Twinrova?

1. Reflect light for Small Key 5. In the Armos room, stand in the sunlight past the blade trap and shine the Mirror Shield on the sun switch by the door. The chest inside holds the key (one guide reports a Like Like first).
2. Climb the moving wall. Take the Armos room’s right door and unlock the next one. Kill two Beamos and the wall’s Skulltula, then Longshot to the top, where two more Beamos wait.
3. Open the Triforce door. Play Zelda’s Lullaby on the Triforce symbol upstairs.
4. Douse the flames for the Boss Key. Kill the Torch Slugs, bomb or hammer the northwest fake door and shoot the eye switch behind it. Longshot onto the new platform and jump to the upper switch to douse the flames around the Boss Key.
5. Hit the barred switch. Go right and upstairs, block the flying pots, and spin attack (or swing Biggoron’s Sword) at the switch behind the bars.
6. Light the archway sun switch. Kill the Lizalfos; sunlight on the switch above the archway drops a Bombs chest.
7. Aim the two mirrors. Kill the White Bubbles, bomb the wall rock and turn the first mirror through the hole. Kill another Lizalfos and turn the second mirror through the bars.
8. Ride the chained platform down. In the giant mirror room, drop onto the chained platform and light its sun switch to lower it into the Colossus room.
9. Break the statue’s face. Hold the light on the face until it crumbles, Longshot to the door behind it and open the boss door.
10. Unmask the third Iron Knuckle. Koume and Kotake’s Iron Knuckle is Nabooru; once beaten she is carried off again. Go past the throne to the central platform.

How do you beat Twinrova?

1. Keep both sisters in view. Circle the platform to see which witch is charging.
2. Reflect each beam into the other sister. Send Kotake’s ice at Koume and Koume’s fire at Kotake, never at the floor, until they merge.
3. Absorb three blasts of one element. Her raised scepter shows the element. Catch three of one kind; the opposite element hurts, so dodge it and its floor patches.
4. Release the charge. Stop targeting and aim the burst; she falls onto one of four pillars.
5. Slash her while she is down. Run or hover over and attack, then repeat.
6. Collect the Heart Container. Take it from a small platform and step into the light.
