Tears of the Kingdom Dark, Evil Spirit, Tingle, Phantom and Mystic Sets

These six sets cannot be upgraded at a Great Fairy Fountain, so their defense stays where it starts. Zelda Dungeon notes that sets which cannot be enhanced “come with their Set Bonus already unlocked”: three of them (Dark, Evil Spirit, Tingle) have a bonus that works as soon as you wear the three pieces. For every set see all armor; the upgradeable sets are on armor upgrade materials.

How do you get the Dark set?

Bargainer Statues sell the Dark set for Poes, one piece more each time you find another statue (Zelda Dungeon): the Dark Tunic with one statue found (150 Poes), the Dark Trousers with three (200) and the Dark Hood with five (300). The Depths set is sold the same way. Every statue keeps its own stock, and the one at Lookout Landing sells the set too; the coordinates below are where Game8 bought each piece.

Night Speed Up: faster movement from 9pm to 4am (Zelda Dungeon), which also lists a hidden effect: people cower before Link. 3 defense per piece.

How do you get the Evil Spirit set?

Each piece is the reward for one Lomei prophecy quest (Game8):

• Evil Spirit Mask — The South Lomei Prophecy.
• Evil Spirit Armor — The Lomei Labyrinth Island Prophecy.
• Evil Spirit Greaves — The North Lomei Prophecy.

The same bonus as the Radiant set: Stal monsters do not attack and bone weapons deal 80% more damage (Zelda Dungeon). Each piece also has Stealth Up; 4 defense per piece.

Where is the Tingle set?

Three cave chests, each behind a small puzzle (Game8):

• Tingle’s Hood — in the cave of the Statue of the Eighth Heroine, behind the light puzzle; blow the sand off the shrine that holds the chest with a Fan.
• Tingle’s Shirt — Dueling Peaks South Cave; solve the pressure-plate puzzle to open the gate.
• Tingle’s Tights — Cape Cales Cliffbase Cave; whistle at the big gate to open it, and the chest is in the ship.

Night Speed Up, like the Dark set, plus the same hidden cowering effect (Zelda Dungeon). 2 defense per piece.

Where is the Phantom set?

Three cave chests (Game8):

• Phantom Helmet — Puffer Beach Overhead Cave; reach the chest with a Spring.
• Phantom Armor — Tamio River Downstream Cave, behind a breakable wall.
• Phantom Greaves — a quicksand hole at the Ancient Altar Ruins.

No set bonus, but every piece gives Attack Up and 8 defense, the most of these six. Zelda Dungeon lists the cowering effect for this set as well.

How do you get the Mystic set?

Koltin trades the Mystic set for Bubbul Gems during the quest chain that starts with The Hunt for Bubbul Gems! (Zelda Dungeon, Game8); his whole reward list and every Bubbulfrog are on the Bubbul Gems page. Each piece has Rupee Padding: when you are hit, you lose rupees instead of hearts. Zelda Dungeon gives the total gems spent along the chain as 46 for the Mystic Headpiece, 8 for the Mystic Robe and 21 for the Mystic Trousers; Game8’s totals are one lower (45, 7 and 20).

No set bonus; 3 defense per piece.

Where is the Archaic set?

Two pieces on Great Sky Island (Game8): the Archaic Tunic in a chest in Pondside Cave, and the Archaic Legwear in a chest near the exit of the Room of Awakening. 1 defense each and no set bonus.
