TotK Gloom Club: How to Get It and Is It Worth Using

How to get the Gloom Club in Tears of the Kingdom from a Phantom Ganon, its attack of 50 and durability of 14, and why it is better fused than swung.

The Gloom Club is a “metal stick filled with madness and symbolic of doom”. It has the highest base attack of any weapon in Tears of the Kingdom, and it is never placed in the world: you take it from a Phantom Ganon that carries one.

Where do you get the Gloom Club?

From a Phantom Ganon holding one. A Phantom Ganon carries a sword, a club or a spear, and drops the one it was holding. You meet them:

  • In Crisis at Hyrule Castle, five at once, with the sages fighting beside you.
  • After Gloom Spawn: destroy the hands of gloom (Gloom Hands) and a Phantom Ganon takes their place.

Is the Gloom Club worth using?

50 attack, 14 durability. No weapon has higher base attack. The cost is in its description: “Its gloom will gradually wear down the body of its wielder.” Every hit you land eats into your hearts. Fused onto another weapon it adds its power without that cost; see the Fuse guide.

Where do you get the Gloom Club in Tears of the Kingdom?
Beat a Phantom Ganon that is wielding one. They appear in Crisis at Hyrule Castle and after you destroy Gloom Spawn (the Gloom Hands). A Phantom Ganon drops the gloom weapon it was holding.
Is the Gloom Club the strongest weapon?
By base attack, yes: 50, more than any other weapon in the game. But its durability is only 14 and each hit costs you hearts to gloom.
Can you fuse the Gloom Club?
Yes, and that is the safer way to use it. As a fused material it does not wear down your hearts.
