Tears of the Kingdom Final Boss: How to Beat Demon King Ganondorf

How to beat Phantom Ganon, all three phases of Demon King Ganondorf and the Demon Dragon in Tears of the Kingdom, with HP, attack patterns and screenshots.

The last fight in Tears of the Kingdom is at Gloom’s Origin, at the bottom of the passage beneath Hyrule Castle. It runs straight through Demon King Ganondorf’s three phases into the Demon Dragon. This page covers each phase with its HP and screenshots, and Phantom Ganon, the enemy you meet on the way.

How do you beat Phantom Ganon?

Outside the story, Phantom Ganons appear after you defeat Gloom Spawn (the “Gloom Hands”), per Game8.

How do you beat Demon King Ganondorf?

Bring Sunny dishes, cooked with Sundelions: Game8 recommends them to clear Gloom’s effect on your hearts.

How do you beat the Demon Dragon?

Standing on its body too long causes Gloom damage (Zelda Dungeon), so don’t linger between weak points.

How many phases does the final boss have?
Four: Demon King Ganondorf, his second form with Phantom Ganons and the sages, the same form one-on-one after it drops to half, and the Demon Dragon in the sky.
How much HP does Ganondorf have?
2,500 in the first phase. After he uses his secret stone the bar doubles to 5,000, with a stop halfway, so the second and third phases are 2,500 each. The Demon Dragon has 6,000, split over five weak points of 1,200 (Zelda Dungeon).
How do you avoid losing hearts to Gloom?
Keep Sunny dishes (cooked with Sundelions): Game8 recommends them to clear Gloom's effect on your hearts. In the third phase, rings of Gloom flames and homing Gloom balls take a heart that cannot be recovered during the fight, so run out through the gaps and keep your distance (Game8).
Where is Phantom Ganon?
You fight Phantom Ganons during the Crisis at Hyrule Castle main quest, and they appear again beside Demon King Ganondorf in the final battle. Elsewhere they show up after you defeat Gloom Spawn (Game8).
