Spirit Temple and Fifth Sage: Construct Parts (Tears of the Kingdom)

The Spirit Temple is not in any of the four regions. It closes a separate chain of quests that the story opens after the regional temples, and it gives you a fifth sage: Mineru, who speaks to you through the construct you rebuild for her. You spend most of this chapter in the Depths below Faron, building her body part by part.

What quests lead to the Spirit Temple?

It helps to bring Brightbloom Seeds for the dark and as much battery capacity as you have.

How do you reach the Construct Factory?

1. Talk to Purah. At Lookout Landing, Purah gives you Find the Fifth Sage.
2. Enter the Ring Ruins. In Kakariko Village, Tauro and Paya start Secret of the Ring Ruins. Use Ascend to get into the Ring Ruins and read the stone slab.
3. Find the dragon statue. Go to the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower, then to the ruins with the dragon statue near Dracozu Lake.
4. Wear the Charged set. Collect the three pieces of the Charged set from caves along the Dracozu River. Wear all three and offer a Zonai Charge at the altar. The Thunderhead Isles appear in the sky.
5. Walk the dragon to Dragonhead Island. Cross the dragon’s body to Dragonhead Island and touch the Zonai relic inside the great door. It fires a green beam at the ground.
6. Fly the relic to Tobio’s Hollow. Below the steps you find a wing, fans and a steering stick. Build a fanplane, put the relic on it and follow the beam to a statue north of Tobio’s Hollow. Carrying the relic to the pedestal reveals a hidden passage.
7. Ride the lift into the Depths. Set the relic in the centre of the platform and ride it down. Light Muokuij Lightroot when you land.
8. Give the figure a head. In the Construct Factory, place the relic as the head of the empty figure. Mineru speaks and asks for the parts stored in four depots.

How do you get Mineru’s four construct parts?

Each depot has a terminal that drops a box holding the part; your job is to bring that box back to the factory. You can do them in any order.

Left arm: the Left-Arm Depot (southwest)

1. Take the box. Use the terminal to drop the box. The entrance closes behind you.
2. Open the door. Hit the wheels by the door to open it.
3. Drive over the lava. Put wheels and a steering stick on the box and drive it across the lava.
4. Turn it for the second strip. Turn the box on its side, refit the wheels, and cross the second stretch of lava.
5. Slide it under the gate. Raise the gate with Recall and push the box under.
6. Float it home. Drop the box into the water stream (or fit fans to it) and let it carry the box back to the factory.

Right arm: the Right-Arm Depot (west or northwest)

1. Get in and take the box. Enter with Ascend and use the terminal.
2. Ride the conveyor. Take the box up the conveyor belt.
3. Send it along the electric rail. Fit wheels to the box and send it along the electrified rail.
4. Add a steering stick. Glide across, carry the box into the next room and attach a steering stick.
5. Drive back. Drive to the factory. A Boss Bokoblin waits on the way; you can drive past it.

Right leg: the Right-Leg Depot (northeast)

1. Take the box up. Use the terminal, then ride a lift up with the box.
2. Hang it on the cable. Fit a fan and a hook to the box and hang it on the cable so it slides upward.
3. Follow it. Use Ascend to catch up, then take another lift.
4. Fly it home. Build a fanplane from a wing, fans and a steering stick (Autobuild works) and fly the box back.

Left leg: the Left-Leg Depot (southeast, closest)

1. Ride the rocket lift. Use the terminal and take the rocket lift up.
2. Tilt the bridge. Turn the crank until the moving bridge slopes upward.
3. Launch the box. Put rockets on the box and fire it off the bridge into the next room.
4. Drive or fly back. Use the carts and rockets in that room to bring the box to the factory. A chest sits in the room with the laser beams.

How do you get from the factory to the Spirit Temple?

1. Board Mineru’s Construct. With all four parts attached, Mineru takes over the body and asks you to take her to the secret stone in the Spirit Temple, now marked on your map.
2. Follow the lit huts. Head southeast along the huts holding Zonai devices, and light Sijotu Lightroot on the way.
3. Deal with the Blue Hinox. A Blue Hinox stands on the route. Fight it or go around.
4. Blast the rocks. Boulders and Zonaite deposits block the path. Fit a cannon to the construct and shoot them.
5. Fly up to the entrance. The door is high up. Attach a rocket to the construct’s back and launch.
6. Wake the temple. Use the construct to activate the temple inside. This also unlocks its travel point. While riding, you can walk over Gloom without taking damage.

How do you beat the Seized Construct?

You fight on Mineru’s Construct. Block its swings or stun it with a charged cannon shot or a Beam Emitter, then hit it three times (four in the second phase) to throw it into the electric fence; that is where its damage comes from. When it takes off on fans, one cannon shot brings it down. Spiked Iron Balls lying in the arena can go on the construct’s arms. More detail is on the temple bosses page.

What happens after the Spirit Temple?

Report to Purah at Lookout Landing to finish Find the Fifth Sage. If you do not have it yet, the story moves on to the Master Sword with Trail of the Master Sword, and then to Destroy Ganondorf.
