Tears of the Kingdom Charged Set: Locations, Set Bonus, Upgrades

The Charged set is one of three weather sets (with Ember and Frostbite): it only does something while it storms, and then it makes your attacks electric. The three pieces sit in ruins in Faron, close together. See all armor for every set and upgrade materials for the others.

Where do you find each piece of the Charged set?

All three are chests in ruins in Faron (Game8; positions from the game’s placement data):

• Charged Headdress — a ruin at the Dracozu River blocked by vines. Cut the vines with a weapon to get in.
• Charged Shirt — a ruin in Dracozu Lake.
• Charged Trousers — a ruin in Damel Forest blocked by rubble. Break the rubble to get in.

What does the Charged set bonus do?

Zelda Dungeon: “During storms, Charge Attacks are faster, final combo hit deals electric damage.” Each piece on its own has Stormy Weather Attack, which also only works in storms.

How much defense does each piece give?

3 at base and 20 at four stars.

What does it take to upgrade the Charged set?

Upgrades are done at a Great Fairy Fountain, one star at a time, for rupees plus materials. The table is per piece; the whole set needs three times as much.

The fourth star needs Gleeok Thunder Horns, which only the Thunder Gleeoks drop; see Gleeok locations. Voltfin Trout is also a cooking ingredient for electro (shock resistance) dishes.

When should you wear the Charged set?

It is a specialist set. Faron rains often, so it pays off most there and in thunderstorms anywhere. In clear weather it only gives defense, so keep the Barbarian set for general fighting. Mind that metal weapons draw lightning in thunderstorms whatever you wear.
