Skyview Towers are the fastest way to fill in the map. This page lists all 15 with coordinates, shows which ones you can walk straight into, and gives short steps for every tower that has something in the way.

Coordinates are X, Y from the game’s map markers, as the in-game map shows them; the height is left out. The region is the area name the game shows for the tower. Guides disagree on two: Pikida Stonegrove is also listed under Tabantha Tundra, and Gerudo Canyon under Gerudo Desert. The nearest shrine is worked out from coordinates; the shrine map shows the rest.

What does activating a Skyview Tower do?

EffectDetails
MapFills in that area of the surface map and the sky map above it
LaunchShoots Link high into the air, so you can glide to nearby sky islands or scout the ground
Travel pointThe travel point outside the door turns on once the terminal inside is active

Lookout Landing is the first one, opened during the main quest Crisis at Hyrule Castle. After that you can take the towers in any order.

Which towers can you activate straight away?

Three towers have nothing blocking them:

TowerWhat to expect
Lookout LandingPart of the main quest. Follow the story and it opens.
Pikida StonegroveNo puzzle, but the area is freezing and the tower stands in rough terrain. Bring cold resistance and glide in from higher ground.
Mount LanayruNo puzzle. It is cold and the climb is long, so bring warm food or cold-resistant armor.

How do you get into the blocked towers?

Hyrule Field

  1. Clear the camp or run past it. The tower stands in the middle of a Bokoblin camp. Bomb Flowers and the explosive barrels in the camp thin it out quickly.
  2. Reach the terminal. Once you are inside the tower, nothing else stands in the way.

Lindor’s Brow

  1. Collect the building materials by the water. The tower sits on a rock in the middle of a lake.
  2. Build a bridge with Ultrahand. Attach the planks into a long bridge or platform that reaches the rock, then cross.

Rospro Pass

  1. Bring fire. The entrance is wrapped in thorny vines.
  2. Burn the vines. Throw a Fire Fruit, shoot an arrow fused with one, or use Flint or a Flame Emitter. The vines burn away and the door is free.

Thyphlo Ruins

  1. Climb to the top of the tower. The terminal gets no power because a floating platform covers the opening at the top.
  2. Move the platform with Ultrahand. Attach the nearby Rockets or Fans to it so it moves off the hole.
  3. Drop down the shaft. Go in through the open top to reach the terminal.

Eldin Canyon

  1. Skip the front door. Fallen debris knocked the lid off the tower and jammed the door.
  2. Ride the rubble up. Use Recall on the fallen rubble near the tower, stand on it as it rises and glide to the open top.
  3. Drop in through the roof. Go down inside the tower to the terminal.

Ulri Mountain

  1. Find the Aerocuda. The engineer at the tower says a flying monster took the terminal.
  2. Shoot it down. Hit the Aerocuda with arrows. Fusing a Keese Eyeball makes the arrows home in.
  3. Carry the terminal back. Take the terminal it drops back to the tower so the engineer can put it in.

Upland Zorana

  1. Bring water. The door is sealed with sludge.
  2. Wash off the sludge. Throw Chuchu Jelly or Splash Fruit at the door, or place the Hydrant in front of it.

Rabella Wetlands

  1. Keep the thorns dry. It rains here most of the time, so fire goes out before the thorns catch.
  2. Build a roof over them. Use Ultrahand to hold planks above the thorns, or wait by a fire until the rain stops.
  3. Burn the thorns. Once they are dry, set them alight and walk in.

Sahasra Slope

  1. Enter Sahasra Slope Cave. The door is jammed from the inside, so go into the cave below the tower.
  2. Break through the rock. Smash the rocks in the way with a blunt weapon or bombs, and look for the hidden room.
  3. Ascend into the tower. Use Ascend on the ceiling of that room to come up inside the tower.
  4. Remove what jams the door. Lift away the long sticks holding the door shut, then talk to the engineer, Billson, outside so he can fix the terminal.

Popla Foothills

  1. Go to Popla Foothills Excavation Site. The door opens but the terminal is broken, and the engineer who can fix it is trapped in this cave south of the tower.
  2. Free Elmerson. Step on the pressure plate by the stone bars to open his cell.
  3. Return to the tower. Elmerson repairs the terminal and you can activate it.

Gerudo Canyon

  1. Find the pulley. The elevator is broken and the engineer is stuck at the bottom.
  2. Make a counterweight. Use Ultrahand to hang the nearby Iron Boxes on the pulley so the other end lifts him up.
  3. Let him fix the tower. Once he is up, he repairs it and the terminal works.

Gerudo Highlands

  1. Prepare for the cold. The tower is buried in snow and the area is freezing.
  2. Enter Meadela’s Mantle Cave. The entrance is in the rock wall near the tower.
  3. Build a raft. Use Ultrahand and the materials in the cave to float down the underground stream.
  4. Ascend into the tower. Under the wooden structure at the end of the stream, use Ascend on its ceiling to come up inside the tower.

Where does this data come from?

  • Positions and tower names: the game’s map markers as published for objmap-totk by zeldamods, checked against the travel-point positions in the game data; names from the game text (TotkText).
  • Unlock methods: cross-checked across several walkthroughs; where they disagree, only the steps they share are written here.

More to collect: the four Great Fairies, all Korok Seeds and every shrine location.

FAQ

How many Skyview Towers are there in Tears of the Kingdom?
There are 15. Each one updates both the surface map and the sky map for its area when you activate it.
Can I activate the Skyview Towers in any order?
Yes. Lookout Landing comes first because it is part of the main quest, but after that the order is up to you.
Why can I not get into a Skyview Tower?
Most towers have a problem to fix first: a stuck door, thorns, mud over the entrance, a missing or broken terminal, or snow. Each case is solved with fire, water, Ultrahand, Ascend or Recall, as listed on this page.
Do Skyview Towers work as fast travel points?
Yes. Every tower has a travel point outside its door, and it switches on once you activate the terminal inside.
