The Magic Staff is “a long rod with a bit of magic, it’s said to have been wielded by an ancient magician who awoke the latent power of gems.” It counts as a spear. Its siblings are the one-handed Magic Rod and the two-handed Magic Scepter.

Where do you find the Magic Staff?
Not in the open world and not on monsters: the game places it in four shrine chests.

Can you buy the Magic Staff?
After you have had one, it appears in the list of all six Bargainer Statues in the Depths. It is said to cost 100 Poes, the same as the Magic Scepter.
How do you use the Magic Staff?
It has 4 attack and 14 durability, the weakest of the three rods. Fuse a gem to it: a ruby, sapphire, topaz or opal turns its attack into fire, ice, lightning or water. More on materials in the Fuse guide.
