Vah Medoh Walkthrough: All 5 Terminals, 8 Chests and Rewards

Vah Medoh is the Rito Divine Beast, and its quest starts in Rito Village in the Tabantha Frontier. The lead-up is short, and the interior is built around one idea: tilting the wings to slide carts, rams and iron balls where you need them. What do you need before Vah Medoh?

The air around Medoh is freezing, and Windblight Ganon’s arena is too. The Snowquill set page and the cold-resistance guide cover your options.

How do you reach and board Vah Medoh?

1. Talk to Kaneli in Rito Village. The elder asks you to find the warrior Teba and help him.
2. Ask Saki where Teba went. Teba’s wife tells you he headed for the Flight Range.
3. Find Teba at the Flight Range. He is in the hut and refuses to go home until the Beast is calmed.
4. Destroy five targets in three minutes. Glide over the updrafts to gain height, then shoot targets in slow motion from the air.
5. Take the Falcon Bow and 20 Bomb Arrows. The bow is in a chest next to Teba. Make sure you have two levels of cold resistance before you talk to him again.
6. Destroy the four cannons. Teba flies you up and draws the fire. Ride the updrafts and hit each cannon at the four ends of Medoh with Bomb Arrows, keeping clear of the barrier.
7. Land on Medoh’s back and activate the terminal. Teba is hurt and returns to the ground, so you go in alone.

How do you get the Vah Medoh map?

8. Clear the Malice at the entrance. Shoot the eyeball to open the way in.
9. Take the map at the Guidance Stone. Go straight from the entrance, cross the central room by moving the metal blocks with Magnesis or riding the updraft, defeat the Guardian Scout, and use the Guidance Stone at the end of the hallway.

How does the Vah Medoh tilt work?

The map has three settings: tipped so one wing drops, level, and tipped the other way. Items on the wings roll or slide toward whichever wing is lower. Guides call this left/right or wings up/down; it is the same control. Terminals can be done in any order, and the numbers below follow the right wing first.

How do you activate all five terminals?

10. Terminal 1: shoot the eye on the right wing. Drop to the bottom of the central room and take the exit that is not blocked. Shoot the eyeball at the far end of the wing before you ride anything; you cannot hit it from the moving cart.
11. Terminal 1: ride the gondola to the tip. Tilt Medoh so the gondola slides to you, board it, then tilt the other way to ride to the wing tip. Walk up the ramp to the terminal.
12. Terminal 2: start the windmills. In the room above, hit the orange switch. Wind spins the two windmills and lifts the gates.
13. Terminal 2: swing the battering ram. Tilt so the ram slides to the edge, grab the sliding windmill with Magnesis to hold it, then tilt the other way. The ram strikes the switch and opens the gate to the terminal.
14. Terminal 3: clear the left-wing room. Glide over from the right wing or the central slope into the middle room of the left wing. Shoot the Malice eyeball on the wall, which also stops enemies spawning.
15. Terminal 3: ride the wind to the ledge. Hit the orange switch to start the wind, then glide from the ramp on the gust to the terminal’s ledge.
16. Terminal 4: blast open the iron ball. Drop a round Remote Bomb into the pipe and detonate it at the blocker. Drop a second one, hit the wind switch so it blows the bomb along, and detonate it at the rock wall to free an iron ball.
17. Terminal 4: roll the ball onto the switch. Tilt so the ball rolls to you, place it on the bomb track with Magnesis, and tilt back so it rolls onto the switch. The gate opens and the terminal is up the ramp on the left.
18. Terminal 5: glide to the left wing tip. From the bottom of the central room, take the right-side exit and follow the balcony around to the other wing. Shoot the eyeball by the Malice-sealed door, which also opens a shortcut. Tilt Medoh so you can glide across the gap to the terminal, then tilt back to glide out.
19. Ride an updraft to the Main Control Unit. It sits on top of Medoh’s back. Any wing or central updraft takes you there.

What are all the chests in Vah Medoh?

You cannot re-enter after the Main Control Unit, so collect everything first.

How do you beat Windblight Ganon?

• Phase 1: it teleports around the arena, firing energy blasts and tornadoes. Ride the updrafts and shoot its eye in slow motion; a few hits knock it to the ground for melee.
• Phase 2 (half health): it releases small drones that bounce its lasers. Keep your arrows for Windblight itself.
• Arrows: bring plenty. The Falcon Bow and your remaining Bomb Arrows both work well here.

What rewards does Vah Medoh give?

Afterwards Medoh perches on the peak above Rito Village and will fire on Calamity Ganon at the start of the final fight. Revali’s Gale also makes the climb into Hyrule Castle much quicker.
