Vah Naboris Walkthrough: All 5 Terminals, 9 Chests and Rewards

Vah Naboris is the Gerudo Divine Beast that roams the Gerudo Desert. It has the longest lead-up of the four and the most intricate inside: three body sections you rotate to join an electric circuit. The Divine Beast order guide explains why many players save it for last.

What do you need before Vah Naboris?

Shock resistance helps against Thunderblight Ganon: the Rubber set or electric-resistant food are the usual choices. The Gerudo set page covers the outfit you need to enter town.

How do you reach and board Vah Naboris?

1. Buy the Gerudo outfit from Vilia. Climb to the roof of the Kara Kara Bazaar inn, compliment Vilia, and pay 600 rupees. Wearing it lets you enter Gerudo Town.
2. Talk to Riju in the palace. The chief asks for help with Naboris, but first her heirloom, the Thunder Helm, has to come back from the thieves.
3. Ask Captain Teake in the barracks. She tells you the thieves are hiding in Karusa Valley.
4. Sneak through the Yiga Clan Hideout. The hideout is full of Yiga; getting spotted makes things much harder, so move quietly toward the leader’s room.
5. Defeat Master Kohga and take the Thunder Helm. He holds a boulder over his head; hit him from range so it drops on him. In his second phase two boulders circle him; strike when one is directly overhead. When he falls into the chasm, a chest with the helm appears.
6. Return the helm and meet Riju at the lookout post. Riju waits at the lookout post south of town. She tells you the fight goes much better if you already know how to ride a Sand Seal, so get one and practise.
7. Hit all four feet with Bomb Arrows. Riju hands you 20 Bomb Arrows. Stay inside the lightning barrier her Thunder Helm projects and hit each foot twice.
8. Climb aboard and activate the entrance terminal. With all four feet down, Naboris collapses. Riju stays outside, and the terminal at the entrance becomes a Travel Gate.

How do you get the Vah Naboris map?

9. Clear the entrance. Defeat the Guardian Scout and shoot the eyeball in the Malice blocking the way.
10. Take the map at the Guidance Stone. Walk up the ramp and across the main room; the Guidance Stone is up a ramp on the right side of the back wall.

How do Vah Naboris’s rotating sections work?

The body is three cylinders: front (neck side), middle (holds the Main Control Unit) and back (tail side). Each turns 90 degrees per press on the map. A circuit bar runs through each section and shows green when joined and orange when broken, so most puzzles come down to lining those bars up.

How do you activate all five terminals?

11. Terminal 1: ride the front section. Stand on the platform in the front section, then rotate that section from the map so the platform carries you up. Keep turning until its circuit bar is at the top, destroy the Malice under the terminal and activate it.
12. Terminal 2: line up all three bars. Rotate every section until all three circuit bars sit at the top. The front wall begins to turn; ride a doorway to the top exit.
13. Terminal 2: push the neck gear both ways. Push the gear at the base of the neck one way to light the first bulb, then the other way to light the second. The neck rises and an elevator comes down; ride it to the head and activate the terminal.
14. Terminal 3: power the tail. Use Magnesis to slide the metal blocks by the tail doorway into place so they complete the circuit, and the tail rises. To ride it, break the circuit so the tail lowers, stand by the pillar at the end of the tail, and reconnect it.
15. Terminal 3: start the moving platform. Destroy the Malice, then put the electric orb from this room onto the elevator. Climb the ladder and turn the gear to start the moving platform. Ride it to the second elevator, defeat the Guardian Scout, shoot the eyeball below and activate the terminal.
16. Terminal 4: place both orbs. Take the second electric orb from the upper elevator down to the lowest room between the humps. Defeat the two Guardian Scouts, set both orbs on the small pedestals, and the portcullis drops so you can reach the terminal.
17. Terminal 5: stand up the back terminal. From outside, glide to the ledge on the right hip and defeat the Guardian Scout. Enter the small room in the back section, rotate the back section one more step so the terminal stands upright, and activate it.
18. Activate the Main Control Unit. It is in the middle section. Using it summons Thunderblight Ganon.

What are all the chests in Vah Naboris?

You cannot re-enter Naboris after the Main Control Unit. The laser corridor to chest 6 goes quiet if you break the circuit or freeze a laser with Stasis.

How do you beat Thunderblight Ganon?

• Speed: it zigzags and warps in with fast lightning-charged strikes. Block, parry or dodge at the last moment, then counter.
• Shield: breaking its shield stuns it and opens it to a full combo.
• Half health: it floats out of reach and plants metal rods, then electrifies them. Stay away from the rods, then grab one with Magnesis and hold it near Thunderblight so its own lightning knocks it down.
