Breath of the Wild Lynel Locations: All 22, HP, Drops, How to Beat

Lynels are the strongest regular enemy in Breath of the Wild. This page lists all 22 with coordinates, marks which ones grow stronger with your world level, gives each grade’s HP and drops, and shows the fight in screenshots.

How many Lynels are there?

The counts come from the game’s placement data as served by zeldamods’ radar for Breath of the Wild. The data holds 27 Lynel records; five are not separate Lynels:

• the Coliseum Ruins spot has one record for each grade — red, Blue-Maned, White-Maned and Silver — at the same place, so it counts once (it is listed as red below);
• Ploymus Mountain has two records a few steps apart, one encounter;
• one White-Maned Lynel on the Great Plateau, near the Temple of Time ruins, is marked as Master Mode only.

“Grow stronger” is the data’s own flag (LevelSensorMode): those Lynels move up through Blue-Maned, White-Maned and Silver as your world level rises.

HP values are from the game’s parameter files and match Game8 and Zelda Dungeon.

Where are the Lynels?

Coordinates are X, Y in the same frame as the site’s shrine pages (X east, Y north); the landmark is the nearest named place on the map.

How do you beat a Lynel?

Run round to its back and mount it while it is down. Zelda Dungeon notes that mounted hits cost no weapon durability; Game8 suggests swapping to a two-handed weapon once you are on its back.

Stasis+ also works on Lynels and buys time (Zelda Dungeon).
