BotW DLC and amiibo Single Armor: Majora's Mask, Midna's Helmet and More

Most DLC and amiibo armor comes in sets of three, each with its own page (see the end of this page). Eight pieces stand alone: six hidden by the Expansion Pass quests, one bonus shirt, and one amiibo mask. This page collects them. Which pieces are not part of a set?

Defense is the game data value; only Sheik’s Mask can be upgraded, so the DLC pieces stay at the number shown.

Where are the three The Master Trials pieces?

Two of them come from Misko’s EX Journal at the Outpost Ruins, east of the Great Plateau; the journal also starts the Phantom set and Tingle’s Outfit quests. Each chest is buried and has to be pulled out with Magnesis.

• Majora’s Mask — side quest EX Treasure: Ancient Mask. The journal says: “The ancient mask lies at the ruins where soldiers gathered. From there, the waters of Lake Kolomo are visible.” The chest is in the rubble at the Kolomo Garrison Ruins. The game describes the mask: “Wearing it makes it harder for certain enemies to spot you.”
• Midna’s Helmet — side quest EX Treasure: Twilight Relic. “Her helmet can be found at the temple ruins soaked in the waters of Regencia River”: the Sage Temple Ruins. It has Guardian Resist Up, the same effect as the Ancient set pieces.
• Korok Mask — side quest EX Strange Mask Rumors, from the book Super Rumor Mill EX: Volume 1 at Woodland Stable. The chest is in a tree hollow in the Lost Woods. The mask shakes when a Korok is hiding nearby, which helps with Korok seeds.

Where are the three The Champions’ Ballad pieces?

All three come from Misko’s EX Journal 2 at the Deya Village Ruins, which also starts the Phantom Ganon set quest.

• Zant’s Helmet — side quest EX Treasure: Usurper King. “The helm of the self-proclaimed King of Shadows is in the swamp of the valley of dead trees, south of Dueling Peaks”: Tobio’s Hollow. It makes you Unfreezable.
• Ravio’s Hood — side quest EX Treasure: Merchant Hood. “The traveling merchant’s hood is in the right hand of the dragon that consumes the Spring of Courage at Dracozu Lake”: look under the right claw of the stone dragon at the Spring of Courage. The game says it “increases your sideways climbing speed”.
• Island Lobster Shirt — side quest EX Treasure: Garb of Winds. “The blue garb of the hero who controlled the wind and traveled the ocean is where the Menoat River was born”: the chest is in the water at Cora Lake, where the river starts. It gives Heat Resistance.

Where is the Nintendo Switch Shirt?

With the Expansion Pass, three special chests appear on the Great Plateau. One of them, at the Eastern Abbey, holds the Nintendo Switch Shirt. It has 1 defense and no effect.

How do you get Sheik’s Mask?

Scan the Super Smash Bros. Sheik amiibo. Like the amiibo armor sets, it comes from a rare chest that is not guaranteed; the scanning rules are on amiibo rewards. It has Stealth Up, like the Stealth set pieces, and it is the only piece on this page that the Great Fairies can upgrade:
