BotW Fierce Deity Set: Majora's Mask Link amiibo, Upgrades

The Fierce Deity set is the Fierce Deity Link outfit from Majora’s Mask. In Breath of the Wild it is amiibo-exclusive armor that cannot be found in the world, and unlike the five amiibo hero sets every piece raises attack. For the scan rules see amiibo rewards; for every set see all armor.

How do you get the Fierce Deity set?

Scan the Majora’s Mask Link amiibo with the Sheikah Slate’s amiibo. Items drop next to Link, and sometimes a rare chest appears that may hold the Fierce Deity Mask, Armor or Boots — or the Fierce Deity Sword. It is random, so a scan does not guarantee a piece, and each figure can normally be scanned once a day; collecting all three usually takes several days.

The table lists the Mask under “other” only because the game data does not tag it as an amiibo item; all three pieces come from the same figure.

What does the Fierce Deity set do?

Every piece has Attack Up. With all three at two stars or higher the set bonus is added:

Charge Atk. Stamina Up makes charged attacks use less stamina — the same bonus as the Barbarian set. The Barbarian set takes all three labyrinths; the Fierce Deity set depends on amiibo luck.

The game’s description of the Fierce Deity Mask: “Legends say this mask was once worn by a hero from a world in which the moon threatened to fall. It looks scary, but wearing it offers fierce, godlike power.”

How much defense does each piece give?

All three are the same: 3 base, then 5, 8, 12 and 20 at four stars.

What do you need to upgrade the Fierce Deity set?

Upgrades happen at a Great Fairy Fountain, one star at a time, and cost only materials. The monster parts are the same for all three pieces; the dragon parts differ:

• Fierce Deity Mask — Dinraal’s Scale, Claw, Shard of Fang and Shard of Horn.
• Fierce Deity Armor — Naydra’s Scale, Claw, Shard of Fang and Shard of Horn.
• Fierce Deity Boots — Farosh’s Scale, Claw, Shard of Fang and Shard of Horn.

When should you wear the Fierce Deity set?

When you want damage: all three pieces raise attack and the set bonus saves stamina on charged attacks, which helps if you charge two-handed swords or spears a lot. Defense is the same as most sets, up to 20 per piece.
