From Korok Forest, make your way to its western entrance, out in the Lost Woods, where the Korok Tasho waits on his own. From there you tail Oaki as he sets off toward the shrine, which lies northwest of Korok Forest, in the northwest corner of the Great Hyrule Forest. Once the quest is done, talk to Oaki again after he has returned to Tasho: both will tell you the whole route is marked with flowers, which makes finding the shrine again painless.

What should you bring?

You need nothing for the interior — no runes, no gear — since it is a pure Blessing shrine with no puzzles to solve. The only demand is stealth on the approach: you must shadow Oaki without being seen, so crouch, move slowly, and keep your distance. If he does spot you there is no failure state — he simply turns back and restarts his walk.

How do you solve Daag Chokah Shrine?

The whole trial is the approach: tail Oaki unseen until he reaches the shrine and it becomes accessible. Inside, nothing is asked of you — the Trial name is literally Daag Chokah’s Blessing: a straight walk, one chest, and the monk.

1. Start The Lost Pilgrimage

Travel to Korok Forest in the Great Hyrule Forest and make your way to its western entrance in the Lost Woods. There you will find a Korok named Tasho standing on his own.

Talk to Tasho. He asks you to follow the little Korok Oaki through the forest without being seen, to make sure nothing bad happens to him — this starts The Lost Pilgrimage, part of The Korok Trials side quest.

2. Tail Oaki without being seen

Once the quest is running, Oaki sets off toward Daag Chokah Shrine. Drop into a crouch, hang well back, and begin tailing him as he heads northwest through the trees.

Keep watching Oaki rather than the scenery: if he spots you, he shrieks about a ghost, insists he could do this by himself, then heads back and starts the route over from the beginning — so stay out of his sightline and never close the gap.

Stay with him all the way into the northwest corner of the Great Hyrule Forest. When Oaki arrives without ever noticing you, he stops and celebrates completing his trial.

3. Complete the quest and unlock the shrine

Walk up and talk to Oaki. He boasts that he finished the trial all by himself and recalls that the Great Deku Tree said a monk’s blessing waits in the shrine ahead — with that, the quest completes and the shrine is accessible.

4. Receive Daag Chokah’s Blessing

Enter Daag Chokah Shrine. The monk greets you, saying that merely setting foot in this place has already proven your worth.

Look around: there are no puzzles of any kind — just one direct path leading to the Monk’s Pedestal. The Trial name, fittingly, is Daag Chokah’s Blessing.

Along that path sits a stone Treasure Chest. Open it to claim the Ancient Core inside.

Continue to the end of the path and approach Daag Chokah on his pedestal.

The monk commends you for arriving and bestows a Spirit Orb, wishes you well, and fades away — shrine cleared.

What do people miss here?

Walking to the location without starting the quest gets you nothing — you’ll find an empty patch of land, because the shrine stays inaccessible until The Lost Pilgrimage has at least been started with Tasho.
Being spotted by Oaki does not fail the quest. He just walks back and restarts the route — nothing is lost, so slow down, drop farther back, and follow him again instead of reloading a save.
You can skip finishing the quest entirely: after it begins, sneaking past Oaki is enough to gain access to the shrine, even if you never watch him complete the trial or talk to him afterward.
The Ancient Core chest is easy to rush past in a Blessing shrine — it sits on the path before the monk. If you leave without it, talk to Oaki once he’s back with Tasho: both will tell you the flower-marked trail leads straight back to the shrine.

Why isn't Daag Chokah Shrine appearing at its map location?

If you go there without starting The Lost Pilgrimage, you'll only find an empty patch of land. Talk to Tasho at the western entrance to Korok Forest to begin the quest, then follow Oaki to the shrine.

What happens if Oaki catches me following him?

He gets startled — he'll yell about a ghost — then walks back and starts the route over, so you have to follow him again. Nothing is lost and the quest stays active; just keep a greater distance.

Is there a puzzle inside Daag Chokah Shrine?

No. It is a Blessing shrine (the Trial is named Daag Chokah's Blessing) with no puzzles at all — just a direct path to the Monk's Pedestal. The real challenge was the stealth tail through the forest.

What's in the chest in Daag Chokah Shrine?
