Where is Monya Toma Shrine?

Look on Salari Hill, east of the Hilltop High Road. From Ridgeland Tower, follow the road north into the Woodland region and watch for the shrine from the road. No shrine quest is needed to reveal the entrance. Use the BotW shrine location table to check the surrounding region.

What should you bring?

No special preparation is needed. Monya Toma is a pure orb-and-launcher puzzle — not a Test of Strength — with no environmental hazards, so no specific armor, meals, or resistances are required. The only tools used are the Remote Bomb rune for the wooden boxes, any weapon or arrows for the crystal switch, and the Paraglider for the chest; Magnesis, Stasis, and Cryonis are never needed.

How do you solve Drawing Parabolas?

Clear the orb’s landing path before changing the launchers. This route uses Remote Bombs for the wooden boxes, an attack for the crystal switch, and the Paraglider for the chest; it does not require Magnesis, Stasis, or Cryonis.

1. Clear the path and aim the launcher

Bomb the four wooden boxes. They are stacked on the raised ledge to the left and block the orb’s route.

Hit the central crystal three times. From the starting alignment, this turns the launcher structure toward the cleared ledge. If you already moved it, use the exit direction rather than the hit count.

2. Launch the orb and follow it to the ledge

Put the orb in the right-side launcher. Carry the orb from the entrance and place it in the launcher to the right; the connected platforms relay it across the room.

Watch the orb land on the cleared ledge. If any box remains in the route, destroy it before sending the orb again.

Follow the orb through the same launcher. Enter the right-side launcher and let the mechanisms carry Link to the ledge.

3. Open the barred gate

Place the orb in the receptacle below. Pick it up on the ledge and drop it into the socket to open the barred route.

4. Collect the chest and finish the shrine

Collect the chest, then finish. Rotate the chest platform toward the right-side launcher, launch Link, and open the Paraglider in the air to land beside the chest. After opening it, go through the unlocked route and approach the monk.

What is in the Monya Toma Shrine chest?

The shrine has no second chest. Once the Thunderblade is collected and the orb has opened the gate, continue to the monk for the Spirit Orb.

What do people miss here?

• The lone chest is the easiest thing to lose: once the orb completes its run the gates open and the route to the monk is clear, so it is tempting to walk straight through — but the chest platform only becomes reachable after using the crystal again to swing it back toward the launcher. Re-aim the structure before greeting the monk, or it is easy to leave the Thunderblade behind.
• The crystal switch looks out of reach: it sits off to the side of the launcher structure and can only be walked to by following the platform paths across the room. Save the trip — shooting it with arrows from the entrance works fine.
• The relay uses three launchers in total, and the orb has to ride the full chain before anything opens; when it finishes, two gates open at once, not just one.
• The entire trial is one large room, so scout from the entrance before touching anything: the orb is directly in front of you, the wooden crates sit at the far end of its flight path, and the chest hangs on the third platform’s structure.
