Maag Halan Shrine is by Mido Swamp in Great Hyrule Forest. From Korok Forest, find Hestu, look to the right for the signpost, and continue to Damia on the forest’s eastern edge. Damia starts The Test of Wood, the shrine quest that leads through the swamp to the entrance.
Maag Halan is a blessing shrine with no interior puzzle, so no runes or special gear are needed — Magnesis, Stasis, Cryonis, and Bombs all go unused. The only real preparation is inventory space: free at least one slot each for a weapon, a bow, and a shield before talking to Damia, or he can’t hand over the Korok weapon set and the trial can’t start. All fighting on the course is done with the sword, bow, and shield Damia issues — your own equipment can’t be swapped in.
The outdoor shrine quest is the real trial. There is no separate puzzle or Test of Strength fight after you reach the shrine.
1. Find 達秘達米 and start the trial
Find Damia on the eastern edge of Korok Forest and agree to begin The Test of Wood.

2. Receive and equip the Forest Dweller set
Receive and equip all three Forest Dweller items: the sword, bow, and shield.
Keep all three items equipped. Unequipping one or allowing one to break disqualifies the attempt.

3. Fight through Mido Swamp with the gear intact
Follow the trial route through Mido Swamp. Along the way, avoid or defeat the Keese, elemental Chuchus, Stalkoblins, and Water Octoroks blocking the course.
Protect the issued gear until the goal. Use it only when you need to clear an enemy; reaching the shrine with the set intact is the objective.

4. Approach Maag Halan Shrine

5. Enter the blessing chamber and finish
Enter the blessing chamber, open the single chest, and finish at the altar.
If the forest paths are hard to orient around, use the shrine-finding guide before starting the equipment-restricted route.

What do people miss here?
Don’t bother searching Mido Swamp for the shrine — Maag Halan only emerges from the ground once The Test of Wood is passed, so the shrine quest is mandatory and can’t be skipped.
The issued Korok gear can fail in one more way: burning. Any piece that gets burned ends the attempt just like a broken one, so keep the set well away from fire along the route.
The Test of Wood isn’t a standalone errand — it’s part of The Korok Trials side quest, so this shrine’s progress counts under that side quest.
Don’t warp out as soon as the chest is open — the Spirit Orb is granted separately by approaching Maag Halan at the pedestal, and the monk fades away right after.
