Look for the stone tablet and recessed pedestals on the eastern heights of Mount Taran. If you approach from Hanu Pond, head southwest toward this high ground. You will not see an exposed shrine entrance until you complete The Three Giant Brothers.

What should you bring?

All the preparation is for the outdoor quest, not the shrine interior. For the combat route, bring a bow and a good stock of arrows to stun each Hinox with an eye shot, plus a melee weapon to punish the stun — and save your best gear for the oldest brother, since the Black Hinox is the strongest of the three (their strength is linked to their age). Stealth is a complete alternative, so no combat kit is mandatory if you’d rather sneak the orbs off their necklaces. Inside, this is a pure blessing shrine: no runes (Magnesis, Stasis, Cryonis, Remote Bomb), weapons, or gear are needed.

Solution

Read the tablet to start the quest, then retrieve the orbs hanging from the nearby Hinox brothers’ necklaces. The route below returns each orb before moving on to the next brother.

Read the stone tablet among the pedestals on Mount Taran to activate The Three Giant Brothers.

2. Youngest Brother’s Orb at Hanu Pond

Retrieve the youngest brother’s orb at Hanu Pond. Defeat the Hinox on the island, pick up its necklace orb, and carry it back to the tablet. Place it in the pedestal recess nearest the direction you came from.

3. Middle Brother’s Orb at Uten Marsh

Retrieve the middle brother’s orb at Uten Marsh. Defeat the Blue Hinox, collect its orb, and return to offer it to the pedestal toward that marsh.

4. Oldest Brother’s Orb at Rabella Wetlands

Retrieve the oldest brother’s orb at Rabella Wetlands. Defeat the Black Hinox, bring back its orb, and place it in the remaining pedestal recess.

5. Enter the Shrine

Enter the shrine once all pedestals are activated. The shrine rises between them and the outdoor quest completes.

6. Claim the Reward

Open the chest on the path ahead to collect the Great Thunderblade. There is no extra chest puzzle.

Approach the monk and interact with the altar to receive the Spirit Orb and finish the shrine.

What do people miss here?

The route’s order matters more than it looks: the brothers’ strength is tied to their age, so the eldest Black Hinox at Rabella Wetlands is far tougher than the youngest at Hanu Pond. Do them in reverse and your very first fight is the hardest of the three.
The quest never starts until you read the stone tablet — it sits on the hill to the left of Taran Pass, beside the three pedestals with recessed slots. Wander the slopes without passing it and you can explore the whole heights with no idea a shrine is buried underground there.
Region labels can mislead: guides file this shrine under the Faron Tower region, but it physically stands in East Necluda, south of Hateno Tower. When planning your approach, check the Hateno side of the map too instead of only the Faron side.
There is exactly one chest — the Great Thunderblade on the direct path to the monk. Open it and you have collected 100% of this shrine’s loot; there is no second, hidden chest to hunt for.
You don’t have to clear all three brothers in one expedition. The route is one orb at a time — retrieve, carry back, socket, then move on — so splitting the quest across separate visits is fine; it only completes when the third orb is seated and the shrine rises.

Why is Tawa Jinn Shrine not there?

The entrance starts underground. Read the stone tablet on Mount Taran and offer the orbs from the Hinox brothers to the pedestals to make it appear.

Do you have to kill the Hinox brothers?

No, you can retrieve their necklace orbs through stealth or by defeating them. Offering the orbs to the pedestals is what reveals the shrine.
