Where is Ya Naga Shrine?

From Lake Tower, head northwest toward Hylia Island, using your paraglider to approach the island. Look for the hollow in its largest, central section: the entrance sits below the surrounding rocks, so check inside the depression rather than only scanning the skyline.

What should you bring?

Bring just two things: both Remote Bomb shapes on your Sheikah Slate — round and square — plus the paraglider. This is a Remote Bomb puzzle, not a Test of Strength, so no particular weapon, armor, or resistance is needed, and the standard route uses neither Magnesis, Cryonis, nor Stasis. If the bomb rune is still locked, clear Ja Baij Shrine, the bomb trial on the Great Plateau, before gliding over. For insurance, a bow with bomb arrows or the Stasis rune can break the cracked ceiling as a fallback.

Solution

The stone block is a launcher. The round bomb lifts it; the square bomb breaks the ceiling. Have both Remote Bomb shapes and your paraglider ready. This route does not require Magnesis, Cryonis, Stasis, or a particular weapon.

1. Break the ceiling with bombs

Put a square bomb on top of the block. Use the stairs beside the mechanism to reach the upper surface of the large stone block on the vertical rails.

Put a round bomb underneath. Return to the lower floor and drop the round bomb into the funnel leading beneath the block.

Detonate the round bomb first. Stay on the lower floor while the blast sends the block and its square bomb upward.

Switch to the square bomb and detonate near the ceiling. Its explosion breaks the cracked stones overhead and opens the route to the upper level.

2. Launch yourself and finish the trial

Use the block to launch Link. Once it is back down, load another round bomb into the funnel, climb onto the block, and detonate the bomb underneath. Leave the top clear of square bombs this time.

Glide to the chest platform on the eastern side. Deploy the paraglider after the launch and land beside the chest; open it for the Eightfold Blade.

Glide from the chest platform toward the altar. Approach the monk and interact to finish the trial.

Chests

Aim for the chest platform before heading to the monk. It is on a raised pillar to the right of the altar, so simply reaching the upper floor does not put the chest in your path.

What do people miss here?

• The shrine’s single chest is the big miss: it rests on its own short pillar beside the cracked ceiling hole, to the right of the altar, and the only way onto it is steering your glide while you are mid-launch. If you touch down on the upper floor first, drop another round bomb into the funnel and ride the block up for a second attempt.
• Think the two-bomb juggling is the only way through? Casting Stasis on the stone cube delays its launch, letting you shatter the cracked ceiling with just one bomb shape.
• Bomb arrows are a legitimate backup: the cracked stones can be shot open with a bow, which is worth remembering when the launch timing keeps failing.
• Cross-game note: in Tears of the Kingdom, the Lake Hylia Chasm sits on this shrine’s exact spot — no effect on the trial, but handy to know when comparing the two games’ maps.
