Where is Shae Katha Shrine?

Shae Katha Shrine is hidden behind the Goddess Statue at the Spring of Courage. Start at Pagos Woods, where Kass stands beside the path. Head north toward the dragon-head ruins at the northern end of the snake-shaped Dracozu Lake, then approach the spring inside. Watch for enemies firing Shock Arrows on the approach.

What should you bring?

Inside the shrine itself you need nothing special — no puzzle, no fight, and no Magnesis, Stasis, Cryonis, or Remote Bomb step, so no runes or resistance gear matter here. The real preparation is for getting in: carry one Farosh’s Scale to offer at the spring, or bring a bow with arrows plus the paraglider so you can ride Farosh’s updraft and shoot its body in midair. On the approach to the spring, watch for enemies firing Shock Arrows.

Solution

The challenge is opening the entrance with a Farosh scale. The room beyond is a reward chamber, with no rune puzzle or Guardian Scout fight.

1. Quest Start and Dragon Hunt

Speak to Kass in Pagos Woods and listen to his song to receive The Serpent’s Jaws shrine quest.

Reach the Spring of Courage and pray to the Goddess Statue. Follow the route above; the statue asks for Farosh’s Scale.

Look for Farosh if you need a scale. A suggested lookout is the southern bridge tower of the Bridge of Hylia, approached from Lake Tower at night. Watch for the dragon rather than expecting an exact arrival time.

Shoot the dragon’s body and collect the scale. Use the paraglider and the dragon’s updraft to approach, then draw your bow in the air. Aim away from the horn, mouth, and claws, and follow the falling material to its landing spot.

2. Offer the Scale

Return to the statue and drop the scale into the spring water. Select the scale in your inventory, hold it, then release it into the water in front of the statue.

3. Enter the Shrine

Enter the doorway behind the Goddess Statue. The offering opens the way to the shrine; activate its entrance and go inside.

4. Claim the Reward

Open the chest along the path to the monk for the Thunderspear.

Interact with the monk at the altar to receive the Spirit Orb and finish the shrine.

What do people miss here?

• Finding the Spring of Courage before the quest is a common dead end: the doorway behind the Goddess Statue is originally sealed, so a closed wall there simply means the shrine quest hasn’t been done — backtrack to Kass in Pagos Woods, listen to his song, and come back with a scale.
• Talking to Kass isn’t enough on its own: he asks whether you want to hear the ancient song passed down in the region, and The Serpent’s Jaws only begins once you actually listen to it.
• The shrine’s single stone chest sits on the direct path to the monk and is easy to rush past on your way to the altar — don’t skip it, since the Thunderspear inside comes with boosted Attack and is the only item reward here besides the Spirit Orb.
• If you’re ticking shrines off by tower, note the mismatch: the spring sits in the Faron Grasslands, but this shrine is counted in the Lake tower region, so a Faron-only sweep will miss it.
