Breath of the Wild DLC Armor Sets: Phantom, Tingle, Royal Guard Locations

The two parts of the Expansion Pass — The Master Trials and The Champions’ Ballad — each hide armor sets in the world, and each set comes with an EX side quest whose journal hints at three chests. None of these sets can be upgraded, so their defense stays fixed; Zelda Dungeon notes that Granté in Tarrey Town sells the Royal Guard and Phantom Ganon sets again after you have found them.

Where is the Phantom set?

From EX Treasure: Phantasma (The Master Trials). Misko’s EX Journal points to three ruins in Hyrule Field; Zelda Dungeon suggests Magnesis to spot the chests:

• Phantom Helmet — the Coliseum Ruins, along the northwest wall of the ground floor. A Lynel lives there.
• Phantom Armor — the Sacred Ground Ruins, in the shallow pond southeast of the ceremonial platform, among Guardian Stalkers.
• Phantom Greaves — the Hyrule Garrison Ruins, buried under an inactive Guardian at the southeast end.

Each piece gives Attack Up and 8 defense. There is no set bonus in the game data; Zelda Dungeon lists only a hidden effect (people cower before Link) and Game8 calls it “Scare NPCs”.

Where is Tingle’s Outfit?

From EX Treasure: Fairy Clothes (The Master Trials). The journal is in the southernmost building of the Outpost Ruins (Zelda Dungeon):

• Tingle’s Hood — the Exchange Ruins, under rubble at the southeast part.
• Tingle’s Shirt — the Castle Town Prison, in the middle of the ruins.
• Tingle’s Tights — the Mabe Village Ruins, under the inactive Guardian.

2 defense per piece, the lowest of the DLC sets. The bonus is Night Speed Up, the same as the Stealth set’s; Zelda Dungeon adds the hidden people-cower effect.

Where is the Royal Guard set?

From EX Royal Guard Rumors (The Champions’ Ballad), which starts at Riverside Stable. All three pieces are inside Hyrule Castle (Zelda Dungeon):

• Royal Guard Boots — in the Guards’ Chamber, between two Lizalfos, down the stairs off the long hallway.
• Royal Guard Uniform — past the Dining Hall, behind a cracked wall at the end of the long stone hall; blow it open with Remote Bombs.
• Royal Guard Cap — on the second floor of the Sanctum, under a knight statue. Stay off the main floor, or the final battle starts.

The bonus is Charge Atk. Stamina Up, the Barbarian set’s; Zelda Dungeon adds two hidden boosts, Climbing Jump Stamina Up and Swim Dash Stamina Up. The pieces have no effect of their own and 4 defense each.

Where is the Phantom Ganon set?

From EX Treasure: Dark Armor (The Champions’ Ballad), hinted by Misko’s EX Journal 2. All three pieces are in Faron and Zelda Dungeon suggests Magnesis for each:

• Phantom Ganon Skull — at the base of the highest of the three waterfalls south of Corta Lake, underwater.
• Phantom Ganon Armor — underwater beneath Sarjon Bridge on the Floria River.
• Phantom Ganon Greaves — buried by the westernmost stone bird statue in Ebara Forest, east of Floria Bridge.

The same bonus as the Radiant set: Stal enemies do not attack you and bone weapons deal 80% more damage (Zelda Dungeon). Each piece also gives Stealth Up, and 4 defense.
