Lanno Kooh Shrine Walkthrough: Reach the Cave, Claim the Blessing

Where is Lanno Kooh Shrine?

The shrine lies west of Hebra Tower, tucked under a rock formation in the northeast part of the Tabantha Frontier, downriver of the Hebra Headspring and Hebra Falls. The river current flows in through the cave’s north entrance and back out the south side, and the shrine sits in the middle of icy water inside. Hazards on the approach: cold water that damages you the whole time you’re in it, plus a few Lizalfos that may attack when you reach the shrine.

What should you bring?

Nothing is needed inside — it’s a Blessing shrine with no puzzles, so no runes or key items matter. For the trip in, bring a melee weapon to chop down a tree upriver toward Hebra Falls for the log ride. If you’d rather swim, bring a lot of hearts and some food, because the icy water will cost you loads of HP on the way.

How do you solve Lanno Kooh Shrine?

Getting in is the entire trial: the shrine hides in a freezing, water-filled cave that you reach either by riding a felled log downriver or by toughing out a damaging swim. Once inside, it’s a pure Blessing — no puzzle, just treasure and a Spirit Orb.

1. Reach the shrine through the icy river

From Hebra Tower, travel west — the shrine hides in a cave under a rock formation, sitting in icy water, downriver of the Hebra Headspring and Hebra Falls.

At the cave, take note of the river’s flow: it runs in through the north entrance and back out the south side, with the shrine in the frigid pool inside.

Pick your route based on the amount of hearts you have: swim if you have plenty of HP and food, otherwise take the log ride.

Swim route: start from the north cave entrance so the current helps your swim — you’ll lose loads of hearts along the way, so heal through it.

Log route: head up the river toward Hebra Falls and find a tree by the water.

Chop the tree down with your melee weapon.

Push the log into the water.

Climb on and ride — the current carries the log all the way down the river and in through the cave’s north entrance.

2. Defeat the Lizalfos and enter

When you reach the shrine, you may have to fight a few Lizalfos — they’re nothing too major, but it’s a bad moment to be drained from a swim.

Step off at the shrine and enter.

3. Walk the direct path inside

Inside, the monk Lanno Kooh greets you: by entering this place, you’ve already proven your worth. There is no puzzle — just follow the direct path to the monk’s pedestal.

4. Collect the reward

Open the treasure chest along the path to collect a Gold Rupee.

Approach Lanno Kooh at the pedestal to receive your Spirit Orb — he wishes you well (may the Goddess smile upon you) and fades away.

What do people miss here?

• Swimming on low hearts: the icy water costs you loads of hearts the whole way. If you don’t have a lot of HP plus some food, take the log ride instead — it keeps you out of the freezing water entirely.
• Entering from the wrong side: the current flows in the north entrance and out the south. Start your swim (or your log ride) upriver, north of the cave, so the water carries you in instead of pushing you back.
• Forgetting the chest: the Gold Rupee chest sits right on the direct path to the pedestal, but it’s easy to beeline straight to the monk — open it on your way through.
• Expecting a puzzle inside: there isn’t one — it’s a Blessing shrine, and the monk tells you that entering was already proof of your worth.
• Arriving drained: a rough swim can leave you low on hearts right as a few Lizalfos appear near the shrine. They’re nothing too major on their own, but the log route keeps you dry and healthy for the fight.
