Ne'ez Yohma Shrine Walkthrough — Pushing Power Trial (BotW)
Full walkthrough for Ne'ez Yohma Shrine in Zora's Domain: dodge the boulders, guide the orb down the ramp with Cryonis, and claim the Zora Spear chest.
Where is Ne’ez Yohma Shrine?
The shrine stands in the middle of Zora’s Domain, directly below King Dorephan’s Throne Room, ringed by a pool of water where you can gather Fleet-Lotus Seeds and Bright-Eyed Crabs. If you’ve already cleared Dagah Keek Shrine, it’s only a short hop to the southwest. Nothing hostile stands between you and the entrance, and activating the shrine gives you a handy fast-travel point right in the heart of Zora’s Domain.

What should you bring?
You only need the Cryonis rune, earned at Keh Namut Shrine on the Great Plateau — the entire trial is solved with ice blocks. There is no combat and no shrine quest required to enter. The boulders and the laser do deal damage if you blunder into them, so a few spare hearts help, but no special weapons, armor, or resistances are needed; inside it’s a mild +73 °F.

How do you solve Ne’ez Yohma Shrine?
This is a staged ball-delivery puzzle: you place Cryonis blocks behind the orb to shove it forward and blocks underneath it to launch it into the air, walking it down the ramp stage by stage until it drops into the hollow next to the gate.
1. Enter and Climb the Ramp
Walk in and take stock: one large room with a wide ramp sloping up ahead, boulders rolling down it, and a gate to the right at the bottom blocking the monk’s pedestal.
Head up the ramp, sticking to the right side — a damaging laser covers the left, and the blocks along the waterfall deflect boulders at odd angles, so time your dodges.
2. Retrieve the Zora Spear
Once you reach the top, the boulders stop rolling. You’ll see a glowing orange orb on a pedestal; its destination is the matching orange hollow in the floor next to the gate below.
Before the puzzle, grab the chest: climb onto the ledge to the left of the orb and follow the side ramp that runs back down above the middle of the room.
Drop onto the triangular platform below the side path and open the chest for a Zora Spear, then climb back up to the pedestal.
3. Clear the Path and Launch the Orb
Push the plain gray ball sitting on the top platform in front of the orb off to the right as far as it will go — otherwise it blocks the orb’s path.
Place a Cryonis block directly behind the orb: as the ice rises it shoves the orb forward, and it rolls down and comes to rest right beside the gray ball you moved.
Put an ice block between the two triangular platforms farther down the ramp — the right-hand one is the platform that held the chest — positioned just above the laser. This block is your backstop.
4. Guide the Orb into the Goal
Return to the resting orb and raise a Cryonis block directly underneath it: the block launches the orb into the air, and it rolls down the angled platform (its round depression works like a chute) to rest behind the next platform, between two gray balls.
Set another ice block in the middle of the triangular platform directly beneath the resting orb so it cannot veer off course on the next launch.
Launch the orb again with a Cryonis block under it — it lands, rolls, and stops against your backstop block instead of leaving the ramp.
Raise one more block underneath the orb, and this launch drops it neatly into the orange hollow next to the gate, opening the gate.
5. Complete the Shrine
Walk back down and speak with the monk Ne’ez Yohma to receive your Spirit Orb.
What is in the chest?
| Chest | Contents | How to get it |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Zora Spear | From the orb pedestal at the top of the ramp, climb the ledge to the left and follow the side path down, then drop onto the triangular platform and open the chest. Alternatively, raise a Cryonis block from floor level and jump up to the platform. |
What do people miss here?
- The chest is easy to walk past — it sits on the triangular block halfway down the ramp. Reach it via the side ledge left of the orb at the top, or with a Cryonis block and a jump from below; since the shrine doubles as a warp point, you can come back for it later.
- The laser on the left side of the ramp is damaging. Hug the right side while climbing and you’ll never touch it.
- If the orb rolls the wrong way or off the ramp entirely, don’t reset: a replacement orb drops onto the pedestal automatically, so just climb back up and try the launch again.
- Don’t waste weapons or bombs on the boulders — they’re pure scenery, and they stop coming down once you reach the top of the ramp.
- Experienced players can skip the staging entirely by hitting the orb with Stasis and launching it straight toward the hollow, but the aim is far trickier than the step-by-step Cryonis route.
