What should you bring?
Nothing special is required: no particular weapon, armor, or resistance, and none of the runes — Magnesis, Stasis, Cryonis, or Remote Bombs — get used on the normal route; the trial is solved entirely through the apparatus’s motion controls. The only gear that matters is the paraglider, and even that is only needed for the optional chest route onto the maze platform. One practical note before you start: in handheld mode, tilting the whole console makes the screen harder to see, while in docked mode the Joy-Cons rely on internal motion sensors with no sensor bar, so precision and sync are lower either way.
The normal route uses motion controls, plus the paraglider for the chest. It needs no particular weapon, Magnesis, Stasis, Cryonis, or Remote Bombs.
1. Navigate the Tilted Maze
Climb the stairs and activate the controls on the right. Tilting your controller moves the suspended maze platform.
Guide the ball into the exit lane. Tilt the maze to roll it through the passages toward the open end facing the receiving track.
Flick the exit edge upward as the ball reaches it. Let the ball roll toward the gap, then reverse the tilt just before it drops. The upward motion sends it across to the track.
Wait for the ball to reach the socket. This opens the gate to the monk; merely getting the ball off the maze is not enough.

2. Reach the Chest on the Maze
Set up the chest route before leaving. Keep the maze face up and tilt it toward the receiving track. Exit the controls and follow the track to its end.
Run, jump, and paraglide onto the maze platform. Catch its edge, get onto the maze, and open the chest for the Phrenic Bow.
3. Meet the Monk
Glide back toward the socket from the opposite corner. Pass through the open gate and interact with the monk to receive the Spirit Orb.

How to get it
1, inside the maze
Phrenic Bow
Tilt the maze toward the receiving track, then jump and paraglide from the end of that track onto the platform.
What do people miss here?
Motion drift is fixable: if the platform tilts the wrong way no matter how you hold the controller, step away from the controls and press A to activate the apparatus again — this resets the sync.
The ball is heavy. Once it picks up a lot of momentum it is nearly impossible to steer in a different direction, so keep your tilts gentle and favor slow, steady progress over speed.
Think the maze is mandatory? The apparatus can be skipped entirely: precise Remote Bomb use combined with shield surfing can get you into the monk’s chamber through its open ceiling.
Claimed the Spirit Orb and left before opening the chest? The shrine also serves as Hateno Village’s fast travel point, so you can warp back at any time to grab what you missed.

Why does the ball fall off the end of the maze?
The maze exit and the receiving track are separated by a gap. As the ball reaches the edge, flick the platform back upward to launch it across instead of letting it roll straight off.
Can you flip the maze upside down?
Yes, the flat underside can carry the ball toward the target without navigating the maze walls. Turn the maze face up again before attempting the chest route.
How do you get the chest in Myahm Agana Shrine?
Tilt the maze toward the receiving track, leave the controls, and run to the end of that track. Jump and paraglide onto the maze platform, then open the chest for a Phrenic Bow.
