BotW Enemies: HP, Drops and Weaknesses of Every Monster
Every regular monster in Breath of the Wild by family, from Bokoblins to Guardians: HP for each rank, drop tables from the game data, and what each one is weak to.
This page lists every regular monster family in Breath of the Wild, the HP of each rank and what each one drops, straight from the game’s own data, plus the one or two facts that make each fight easier. The big solo monsters have their own pages: Lynels, Hinoxes, Taluses and Moldugas.
Which monster families are in Breath of the Wild?
| Family | Ranks and types | HP |
|---|---|---|
| Bokoblin | red, Blue, Black, Silver, Golden, Stalkoblin | 1–1,080 |
| Moblin | red, Blue, Black, Silver, Golden, Stalmoblin | 2–1,620 |
| Lizalfos | green, Blue, Black, Silver, Golden, Fire-Breath, Ice-Breath, Electric, Stalizalfos | 1–1,296 |
| Lynel | red, Blue-Maned, White-Maned, Silver, Golden | 2,000–7,500 |
| Chuchu | normal, Fire, Ice, Electric; three sizes each | 3–48 |
| Keese | normal, Fire, Ice, Electric | 1 |
| Octorok | Water, Forest, Rock, Snow, Treasure, Sky | 8 |
| Wizzrobe | Fire, Ice, Electric, Meteo, Blizzrobe, Thunder | 150–300 |
| Pebblit | Stone, Igneo, Frost | 20 |
| Guardian | Stalker, Turret, Skywatcher, Decayed, Scout I–IV | 13–3,000 |
| Yiga Clan | Footsoldier, Blademaster | 72–400 |
| Cursed monsters | Cursed Bokoblin, Moblin, Lizalfos | 1–30 |
Names are the game’s own; HP comes from the game’s parameter files. Wild animals that attack, such as wolves and bears, are animal actors in the game’s data rather than monsters, so they are not here.
What do the color ranks mean?
Bokoblins, Moblins and Lizalfos come in the same ladder: the red or green base kind, then Blue, Black and Silver, each with more HP and better weapons. The game describes the Silver rank as shaped by Ganon’s magic and stronger than even the Black kind, and the gem tables start at Silver. Golden monsters sit above Silver but only exist in Master Mode, the hard mode from the first DLC pack. The game’s description adds that Golden monsters have a high tolerance for electric attacks.
How much HP do Bokoblins have and what do they drop?
| Bokoblin | HP | Drops |
|---|---|---|
| Bokoblin | 13 | Bokoblin Horn ×1; Bokoblin Fang 30% |
| Blue Bokoblin | 72 | Horn ×1; Fang ×1–2 at 80%; Bokoblin Guts 40% |
| Black Bokoblin | 240 | Horn ×1; Fang ×1–2; Guts ×1 |
| Silver Bokoblin | 720 | Horn ×1; Fang ×2–3; Guts ×1; one gem (Topaz, Ruby, Sapphire 33% each, Diamond 1%); ×2–3 at Amber 20%, Opal 5%, Topaz/Ruby/Sapphire/Diamond 1% each |
| Golden Bokoblin (Master Mode) | 1,080 | As Silver, but the gem roll is 32% each and Diamond 4% |
| Stalkoblin (night only) | 1 | Fang ×1–2; Horn 50% |
Bokoblins are the weakest camp monsters: a red one dies to almost anything. The game notes that Blue Bokoblins have learned to kick a Remote Bomb away, so throw it and detonate at once.
How much HP do Moblins have and what do they drop?
Full page: Moblins.
| Moblin | HP | Drops |
|---|---|---|
| Moblin | 56 | Moblin Horn ×1; Moblin Fang ×1–2 |
| Blue Moblin | 144 | Horn ×1; Fang ×1–2 at 80%; Moblin Guts 70% |
| Black Moblin | 360 | Horn ×1; Fang ×3–4; Guts ×1 |
| Silver Moblin | 1,080 | Horn ×1; Fang ×3–4; Guts ×1; one gem (Topaz, Ruby, Sapphire 30% each, Diamond 10%); ×3–4 at Amber 10%, Opal 6%, Topaz/Ruby/Sapphire/Diamond 1% each |
| Golden Moblin (Master Mode) | 1,620 | As Silver, but the gem roll is 28% each and Diamond 16% |
| Stalmoblin (night only) | 2 | Fang ×2–4; Horn ×1 |
Moblins hit hard and reach far. Their legs “resist the force of a bomb blast”, the game says, so bombs will not knock one over, and an unarmed Moblin will pick up a Bokoblin and throw it at you. The Silver Moblin’s Diamond chance (10%) is the best of any camp monster in Normal Mode.
How much HP do Lizalfos have and what do they drop?
Full page: Lizalfos.
| Lizalfos | HP | Drops |
|---|---|---|
| Lizalfos | 50 | Lizalfos Horn ×1; Lizalfos Talon ×1–2 at 50% |
| Blue Lizalfos | 120 | Horn ×1; Talon ×2; Lizalfos Tail 50% |
| Black Lizalfos | 288 | Horn ×1; Talon ×2; Tail ×1 |
| Silver Lizalfos | 864 | Horn ×1; Talon ×2; Tail ×1; ×1–3 gems (Topaz, Ruby, Sapphire 33% each, Diamond 1%); ×2 at Amber 15%, Opal 8%, Topaz/Ruby/Sapphire 2% each, Diamond 1% |
| Golden Lizalfos (Master Mode) | 1,296 | As Silver, but the gem rolls are 32% each and Diamond 4% |
| Fire-Breath Lizalfos | 160 | Horn ×1; Talon ×2; Red Lizalfos Tail ×1 |
| Ice-Breath Lizalfos | 288 | Horn ×1; Talon ×2; Icy Lizalfos Tail ×1 |
| Electric Lizalfos | 288 | Horn ×1; Talon ×2; Yellow Lizalfos Tail ×1 |
| Stalizalfos (night only) | 1 | Talon ×1–2; Horn ×1 |
- Fire-Breath Lizalfos: cold kills it instantly, in the game’s words, so one Ice Arrow ends the fight.
- Ice-Breath Lizalfos: fire kills it instantly; one Fire Arrow is enough.
- Electric Lizalfos: its horn is charged, and an arrow that hits the horn makes the charge arc out to anything nearby, the game warns. Its electric dome can also make you drop metal gear.
The three elemental tails are the only source of Red, Icy and Yellow Lizalfos Tails, which go into elixirs and dishes.
How do you beat Stal monsters?
Stalkoblins, Stalmoblins and Stalizalfos are the skeletons of the three camp families. They come out only at night. One solid hit knocks a Stalkoblin or Stalizalfos apart (a Stalmoblin takes a few), but “as long as a skull remains intact” it pulls itself back together, as the game puts it. Break the skull while the body is down and the monster is gone for good.
How much HP do Chuchus have and what do they drop?
Full page: Chuchus.
| Size | Chuchu HP | Fire, Ice, Electric Chuchu HP | Jelly |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small | 3 | 12 | ×1; one more at 30% (Electric 60%) |
| Medium | 20 | 20 | ×2; ×1–2 more at 60% |
| Large | 48 | 48 | ×3; ×2 (elemental ×2–3) more at 80% |
A normal Chuchu drops Chuchu Jelly, a Fire Chuchu Red Chuchu Jelly, an Ice Chuchu White Chuchu Jelly and an Electric Chuchu Yellow Chuchu Jelly. The game advises spears, arrows or other reach weapons because elemental Chuchus burst when hit up close. A normal Chuchu that was heated, cooled or shocked before it died drops the matching colored jelly (the game’s description), and hitting normal Chuchu Jelly on the ground with an element changes it the same way: a cheap way to get the kind you need for elixirs.
What about Keese and Octoroks?
Full pages: Keese and Octoroks.
| Monster | HP | Drops |
|---|---|---|
| Keese | 1 | Keese Wing ×1–2; Keese Eyeball 30% |
| Fire, Ice, Electric Keese | 1 | Fire, Ice or Electric Keese Wing ×1–2; Keese Eyeball 30% |
| Water, Forest, Rock, Snow Octorok | 8 | ×2–3 at Octorok Tentacle 25%, Octo Balloon 50%, and 25% an item the data does not name; Octorok Eyeball ×1–2 at 10% |
| Treasure Octorok | 8 | ×3–5 rupees (Green 40%, Blue 20%, Red 5%, Purple 1%, Silver 0.5%); ×2–3 at Tentacle 30%, Octo Balloon 70%; Octorok Eyeball ×1–2 at 10% |
| Sky Octorok (Master Mode) | 8 | Nothing |
- Keese fall to a single hit; even a whole swarm goes down to one swing.
- Water Octoroks spit rocks you can send back with a raised shield, the game says. A Rock Octorok breathes in before it spits, and it can suck up a weapon or bomb with that breath.
- Treasure Octoroks pose as buried chests in sand or snow. The game points out that the chest is not magnetic: if Magnesis cannot pull a buried chest, it is a Treasure Octorok.
How do you beat Wizzrobes?
Full page: Wizzrobes.
| Wizzrobe | HP | Rod it carries |
|---|---|---|
| Fire Wizzrobe | 150 | Fire Rod |
| Ice Wizzrobe | 150 | Ice Rod |
| Electric Wizzrobe | 150 | Lightning Rod |
| Meteo Wizzrobe | 300 | Meteor Rod |
| Blizzrobe | 300 | Blizzard Rod |
| Thunder Wizzrobe | 300 | Thunderstorm Rod |
Wizzrobes have no material drops at all: their drop tables are empty, and you only get the rod they held. A Fire or Meteo Wizzrobe dies to one ice weapon or Ice Arrow, an Ice Wizzrobe or Blizzrobe to one fire weapon or Fire Arrow; Electric and Thunder Wizzrobes have no such counter. Each one changes the weather around it, and the game notes it goes back to normal once the Wizzrobe is beaten. The rods are listed with the other weapons.
What do Pebblits drop?
| Pebblit | HP | One roll |
|---|---|---|
| Stone Pebblit | 20 | Amber 60%, Flint 30%, Opal 10% |
| Igneo Pebblit | 20 | Amber 60%, Flint 30%, Ruby 10% |
| Frost Pebblit | 20 | Amber 60%, Flint 30%, Sapphire 10% |
Pebblits are young Taluses. The game says a bomb blast is enough to blow one away, and a Stone Pebblit can be picked up and breaks when you throw it. Grown-up Taluses are on the Talus page.
How much HP do Guardians have?
Full page: Guardians.
| Guardian | HP |
|---|---|
| Guardian Stalker | 1,500 |
| Guardian Turret | 1,500 |
| Guardian Skywatcher | 1,500 |
| Decayed Guardian | 500 |
| Guardian Scout I | 13 |
| Guardian Scout II | 100 (375 in Minor Tests of Strength) |
| Guardian Scout III | 1,500 |
| Guardian Scout IV | 3,000 |
Guardians are the only source of ancient materials. The game points at their weak spots: breaking a Stalker’s legs cripples it, and destroying a Skywatcher’s propeller brings it down. Drop rates, all 145 overworld Guardians on a map and the best farming spots are on the ancient materials page.
What about the Yiga Clan?
Full page: Yiga Clan.
| Yiga | HP | Drops |
|---|---|---|
| Yiga Footsoldier | 72 | Mighty Bananas ×1; ×3–5 rupees (Green 25%, Blue 30%, Red 15%, Purple 3%) |
| Yiga Blademaster | 400 | Mighty Bananas ×1–2; ×1–2 at Amber 10%, Opal/Topaz/Ruby/Sapphire 1% each |
Footsoldiers often pose as travelers or villagers until you get close, the game warns; a stranger on the road who attacks once you talk to them is one. Both ranks carry Mighty Bananas, their favorite food.
What are Cursed Bokoblins, Moblins and Lizalfos?
They are floating skulls brought back by Ganon’s Malice, with 1 HP (Bokoblin and Lizalfos) or 30 HP (Moblin), and their drop tables are empty. They keep appearing from a patch of Malice until you destroy its eye. You meet them in Hyrule Castle and inside the Divine Beasts; see the Calamity Ganon page and the Divine Beast order guide.
How strong are the big monsters?
| Monster | HP | Full page |
|---|---|---|
| Hinox / Blue Hinox / Black Hinox | 600 / 800 / 1,000 | Hinox locations |
| Stalnox | 1,000 | Hinox locations |
| Stone Talus / Luminous / Rare | 300 / 600 / 900 | Talus locations |
| Igneo Talus / Frost Talus | 800 / 800 | Talus locations |
| Molduga | 1,500 | Molduga locations |
| Lynel / Blue-Maned / White-Maned / Silver / Golden | 2,000 / 3,000 / 4,000 / 5,000 / 7,500 | Lynel locations |
Each of those pages has every spawn point on a map, the full drop tables and how to win the fight. The Lynel has “a natural resistance to all elements”, according to the game, so elemental arrows do not stop it the way they stop Lizalfos or Wizzrobes.
