Tears of the Kingdom Climbing Set: Cave Locations, Set Bonus, Upgrades
Where to find the Climber's Bandanna, Climbing Gear and Climbing Boots in Tears of the Kingdom caves, the Climbing Jump Stamina Up bonus and upgrades.
The Climbing set is the one to wear on long climbs: every piece speeds up climbing, and the full set makes climbing jumps cheaper. All three are in caves on the surface, and none needs a quest. For every set see all armor; the other upgrade tables are on armor upgrade materials.
Where do you find each piece of the Climbing set?
All three are cave chests (Game8; positions from the game’s placement data):
- Climber’s Bandanna — chest in Ploymus Mountain Cave.
- Climbing Gear — North Hyrule Plain Cave: go down and behind the waterfalls to find the chest.
- Climbing Boots — chest in Upland Zorana Byroad.

What does the Climbing set bonus do?

Climbing Jump Stamina Up
Decreases the stamina used when jumping while climbing.
Active when all three pieces are at ★★ or higher.
Zelda Dungeon: “Jumping while climbing consumes 50% less stamina.” Each piece on its own has Climb Speed Up.

What does it take to upgrade the Climbing set?
Upgrades are done at a Great Fairy Fountain, one star at a time, for rupees plus materials. The table is per piece; the whole set needs three times as much.

Every piece in this set uses these materials.
The materials are all small creatures and plants: Keese wings, Rushrooms, Hightail Lizards, Hot-Footed Frogs and Swift Violets, which grow on cliffs. Until you have the set, enduring and energizing meals give you the stamina to climb.
When should you wear the Climbing set?
Wear it for long climbs in dry weather: the Hebra and Gerudo highlands, towers of rock, and Korok seeds on cliffs. In the rain the Froggy set is better, because a faster climb does not help if you keep slipping.
