Tears of the Kingdom Zonaite Set: Sky Island Locations, Bonus, Upgrades

The Zonaite set is for players who build: each piece has Energy Up, so Zonai devices run longer on one battery, and the set bonus recharges the battery faster. It also starts at 4 defense, higher than most sets. All three pieces are chests on sky islands. For the other sets see all armor and armor upgrade materials.

Where do you find each piece of the Zonaite set?

All three are chests on sky islands (Game8; positions from the game’s placement data):

• Zonaite Helm — Lightcast Island. Break the breakable wall, solve the mirror puzzle inside, then use Ascend at the end to reach the chest.
• Zonaite Waistguard — chest on Zonaite Forge Island, in the sky over East Necluda.
• Zonaite Shin Guards — a floating sphere in the sky; the nearest named sky island is Sky Mine. Use Ultrahand to put the giant block on the platform inside the floating sphere, Ascend, then enter the sphere again for the chest.

What does the Zonaite set bonus do?

Zelda Dungeon: “Energy Cell recharges faster”; Game8 gives it as doubled battery recharge speed. Each piece on its own has Energy Up, which makes the battery last longer.

How much defense does each piece give?

4 at base and 28 at four stars, higher than the 3 to 20 of most sets.

What does it take to upgrade the Zonaite set?

Upgrades are done at a Great Fairy Fountain, one star at a time, for rupees plus materials. The table is per piece; the whole set needs three times as much.

Every star needs horns from Constructs (Soldier Constructs, and Captain Constructs from the second star), and Zonaite or Large Zonaite from the second star on. You find both in the Depths and on the sky islands. For fights that take a while, bring good meals.

When should you wear the Zonaite set?

Wear it when you build and fly: long glider or wing flights, vehicles, and the sky islands in general. If you rarely drain your battery, a combat or resistance set does more for you. Its 4 base defense also makes it a reasonable everyday set once upgraded.
