Breath of the Wild Dark Set: Kilton's Shop, Mon Price, Night Bonus

The Dark set is Link in the colors of Dark Link, sold by the monster-loving merchant Kilton. It is a late purchase — it unlocks only after all four Divine Beasts — and Zelda Dungeon calls it of limited use for its cost, since it can be neither upgraded nor dyed. For every set see all armor; for the Great Fairies see armor upgrade materials.

Where do you buy the Dark set?

From Kilton at the Fang and Bone (Game8, Zelda Dungeon). You first meet him at night at Skull Lake in Akkala; after that his shop appears at night outside settlements such as Kakariko Village, Hateno Village, Rito Village and Gerudo Town (Zelda Dungeon). What does it cost?

Kilton sells for Mon, a currency he gives you in exchange for monster parts; rarer parts are worth more (Zelda Dungeon).

These are the prices in Zelda Dungeon’s Fang and Bone shop table, 3,997 Mon in all, the same total as its Dark Set page’s summary box. The text of that Dark Set page says 650 Mon instead; the two disagree.

What does the set bonus do?

Zelda Dungeon: Night Speed Up “increases movement speed during nighttime (9pm–4am)” — the same bonus as the Stealth set. It also lists a hidden effect of the Dark set: people cower before Link. The set cannot be upgraded, so the bonus applies as soon as all three pieces are worn.

How much defense does it give?

3 per piece and no upgrades; Zelda Dungeon: it cannot be dyed either. For night travel with real defense, the Stealth set gives the same bonus and can be upgraded.
